Why on earth are there craftable furnishing items in Crown Crates that we are paying for?
There is absolutely no reason they bowl, cup, and table should be included in these crates.
And on top of them already being in there, they are popping up in the results quite often which is infuriating after paying for these crates.

Yeah I don't understand how this could have been seen as a good idea. Although the furnishings can be turned into gems, it still feels insulting to players who are spending real money on these crates. If no effort at all is going to be put into these "filler" items, it might be better to just straight up give people the gems instead of junk that will only lead to upset customers.

Those items are exactly the reason i am not buying any crates this time. Of course there are always item you don't really want, but so far it didn't feel like a total waste of money if you did get them. This time though, it feels like a total waste of money and a crate.

Besides that, the couple of really nice thing are all in the 100 or even 400 gems category; so almost impossible to get. So no crates for me this round.

Overall I thought there were a lot of nice things in this round of crates, but those crafted items did make me say "Hmmmm". It seems like just extra fodder to water down the loot table.

Adding such basic craft able items to crates is an insult to the player base that's been supporting ZoS for years, TBQH.

Crates already had questionable filler items in them that the playerbase has "allowed", but to let ZoS add Craftable items into them now?
We've got an Argonian Bowl next to a collectible 'unique' pony. If anything they should be valued as the current craftable items, IE, Common and Fine rewards.

More players should be voicing complaints about this IMO, it's a slippery slope to a lot more basic furnishing recipes getting into the crates.

Unfortunately hundreds of these packs have already been bought up, so "we're" allowing this.

Came here to say exactly this. I rarely buy crates but there are some nice items this time around, then I saw the most common craftable rubbish in there and changed my mind. My luck with crates is poor and I know I'll end up with dozens of wood elf pots. I cannot believe they couldn't even put something rare in there like the Ayleid stuff - that still would have been taking the mick but better than green plan stuff.

Every time I think they can't go any lower with their monetization they do. Presumably the next crate season will include recipies for roast pig and a stack of flour or something.

So disappointed, they always seem to find a way to spoil what should be a fun event/crate season. Getting very tired of it, frankly.

Honestly, this round of crates have to be among the worst for disparity between the good and the bad. The good items are great, but the bad ones are nothing short of despicable.

Having low level crafting items as rare drops to muddy the loot table is a terrible move by ZoS - and one that will achieve nothing more than a bit of money short term, but lower consumer confidence long term.. it was moves like this that made me quit playing and cancel my ESO plus for nearly 12 months, and will be the reason I quit again if it continues. It's nothing short of a cash grab, and honestly doesn't nothing to aid the reputation of the company.

When ESO is good, it's very very good, but when it's bad it's simply abhorrent.... be good please, Zeni, don't be the bad guy all the time...

I was pretty surprised to see this in the loot pool tbh. I like some of the stuff in the crates but this kind of sours it. I also noticed in the, I believe sanguine furnishings pack in the shop now it has the extremely common deadric bench as well as the blue or purple (can't remember which) candles. I can't count how many bench plans I've gotten over the years but I have to admit that this makes me reevaluate buying this round. It's disappointing to say the least. I wonder if @ZOS_Kevin will make any comment beyond the platitudes.

It's also pretty crappy thing to do to newer players who may waste their gems on these items, not knowing that they are very cheap and craftable.

I am very sad about this, and how few people are speaking up about it. Though I've seen endless people wearing that big feather fan dress, so they are defo being bought...

This is horrible though. Like people said, if they were found in the consumables tier it'd be whatever, who cares. But it's not, it's in Superior.

Well, you can also buy the stuff from the crates with Seals of Endeavor and Gems saved from watching streams so people are not necessarily buying the crates for these items. But yes, it is horrible either way :(

Agreed OP. Why would anyone choose to gamble with real money on an item that they can easily craft in game that was already paid for.

This is not a good faith gesture on ZOS behalf.

It is very disconcerting to see so many common or blue levels items being included in various forms to fluff up the "content." The Azura furnishing pack is the same way, but the Carnival crates have been particularly appalling in that respect.

This sounds crazy! So people are buying Crown crates and are getting craftable furnishing?

But on the other you can get tri pots, food, poison, repair kits etc which you can craft in game

The craftable furnishings are ridiculous, yes, but they *can* be traded out for gems so it's less important. At least it's lower level/rarity stuff, so it's like getting a dye pack or similar. I'm not a big fan of it either, but I do know ZoS is experimenting with new things and new ideas, so I figure that this is a part of it. So long as they don't put them in the higher quality tiers, I won't be too butthurt.

Yeah, this sucks. I did buy crates since I wanted to get the dance and musical instrument emotes as well as some of the cosmetics, but having dirt cheap craftable recipes in crown crates is insane... At least they give gems, that's the only good thing about them. I would've bought those items I wanted with endeavors but I ran out of them when I bought the personality from the Grim Harlequin crates... and now they have another apex personality, ughhh. I hate how janky its animations are, not gonna bother getting that one with endeavors in the future...

They probably figured out that a low tier but "interesting" drop causes people to stop opening. When a person is truly furious, they are more likely to keep going.

It really does feel kind of cheap and insulting to include what amounts to trash tier craftables that people don't even want to craft most of the time.

If they wanted to include furnishings based on models that already exists, there are lots of static props and placeables that exist in the world that ZoS has refused to give us as player furnishings for so far that they could have recycled into finally letting us use in our houses, like some of this stuff just to pull out a few of my favorites I keep hoping will make it to the Lux Furnisher but never do.

Some of which would have even been perfect for this Argonian-themed crate set and are cool enough I can't see anyone being disappointed about getting. Big missed opportunity for both ZoS and players tbh.

+1 feedback for the team that adding common craftable furnishings to crates is not a good move.

People don't buy crates to get items they can get in-game. They buy crates to get items that they can only get in the crates.

When we open a crate, we're promised at least one "good" item of Superior tier or higher, and the rest will be junk that most people will turn into gems. That "good" item might not be something the person is especially keen on, but at least it's not just more junk.

These common craftable furnishings qualify as junk, and getting one as the supposed "good" reward feels like a complete waste of a crate. Which makes opening crates at all feel like more of a waste. And that's not the sort of frustration that will make people want to keep going in hopes of finally getting what they want. It's the kind that will convince them not to even bother.

We're already seeing plenty of people saying they're not touching these crates because these furnishings are included in the reward pool. Those are sales you're missing out on, that likely would have been sales if you'd included a handful of simple cosmetics instead or even just left the furnishings out. Sure, there will still be people who buy these crates for the shinies, but overall you're not doing your bottom line any favors by making them less attractive to more people.

I extracted a lot of gems from my crate bundle, but didn't take note of how many gems those furnishings were worth (if any). Anybody recall?

[edit] Nevermind. I still had them in inventoroy, so was able to check their value. They're worth 5 gems each. That's actually better than what I had expected. Not that I'm happy to see crafted items in the crates mind you. But 5 gems/per isn't so bad. It's better than what the pots/poisons pay out.

@ZOS_Kevin If you are going to share with the team the opinion of a few persons out of hundred thousands playing, then please share mine too:

LEAVE THOSE FURNITURE ITEMS IN THE CRATES.

With these crates I have made more gems than ever from common drops.

I like those items in the creates since instead of, on those cards, get pots or other stuff valued 1 or 2 gems, I get this furniture that, if I don't want them, I can exchange them for 5 gems.

So Kevin, share my opinion too, and say THANK YOU to the team for adding these items to the crates.

Except that those furniture items aren't replacing potions and other consumables from the Common and Fine tiers, they're replacing other (arguably better) cosmetic items from the Superior or higher tiers. You might end up with more gems in the end, which is nice if you care more about gems than the available cosmetic items, but it's not a strict upgrade over the usual gem fodder because they're in different tiers.

I expect fewer people would be complaining if the furnishings were in the Fine (green) tier and counted among the consumable junk and didn't make it harder to get the higher-quality items.

Edit: Sometimes I take too long to write my replies... :D

@coop500 @Ilsabet Same thing. Whatever they are replacing they are giving 5 gems every single time they appear, and they appeared a lot to me, so, as mentioned, I ended with more gems than ever.

    Keep them in the crates.
