New Cyrodiil vs Server performance

Vengeance is melting the servers it is prime time right now and the game feels unplayable(typical but worse than usual). How about fix your servers or get new hardware or add another campaign or something.

What content? I am experiencing delays after delay and sluggish performance like skills I did not press getting cast or heavy attacks not working at all and the usual delayed cast times. I was in battlegrounds when this occurred so maybe its just battlegrounds are messed up at this hour. This was not an issue yesterday or this morning and now it feels awful/unplayable.

Tests Tests and again Tests! I've played a lot of mmo games over the last 15 years and I haven't found one that doesn't have lag when there are more than 100-200 players in the same place and fighting..I don't believe they can fix lag at 100% They just threw me out of my favorite pvp mmo for a week. thats all

ya it was really bad tonight. I noticed ability delay here and there yesterday but it wasnt often. But tonight was another level. Absolutely unplayable. I remember being at chalmen at like 8 or 9pm est where there was a massive fight and i just could not get skills to go off. And i whispered a couple people who said they were experiencing the same thing. One guy said he was just mainly bashing people because he skills just wouldnt work. Ill be really curious to see if it keeps getting worse as the week goes on.

So dont worry about the people that say they arent lagging. Its hard to notice when you are in a massive zerg button mashing. And ya that is the point of this test but it just goes to show that even in the most basic bare bones form possible the servers still have issues with large scale combat. I think zos needs to come to terms with the fact that these band aid fixes arent going to fix the root of the issue.

Reading the comments here. It sounds like a classic case of memory fragmentation problem. The longer the server runs, the more time it takes for the program( the kernel to be more specific as it manages all memory) to find a big enough free spot of memory to create a new "object"(in programmer terms, that can mean anything, an array, or variable, etc) and even more time if it has to move "objects" around to free up a big enough spot. This easily happens when the program is creating many temp objects and destroying them. Part of the normal process as folks enter and leave and combat. The fix is to literally increase hardware memory so there is enough, about 10 to 20 percent, free memory when at pop cap. The biggest problem is management is too cheap and wants to use that free memory for more instances of dungeons and so one to save money. Creating the memory fragmentation issue. Firefox encounter this issue years ago and did lots of studies on it. Put a lot of man effort to figure out a fix for it for Firefox browser as the competition was beating them in performance.

the input delay is real. even solo in infinite archive. i die because of skills not being cast. its ridicoulous. and this started before they started with the pvp campaign

no money for new machines, all the machines now are working for Cyro..but they will fix the lag soon:)

Primetime NA there was no lag with maybe 300 players on my screen. There is a difference in FPS and latency you know.... Kinda sad how many forum posts are describing fps issues and not server issues.

This was my experience last night during prime time as well.

If ZOS reverted PvP to v1.6 that would be a MUCH better option than this template only baloney.

"there" im not talking about the bare bones vengeance if you read my first reply. What is sad is how bad the performance outside of vengeance (bgs specifically) however it is getting better since I posted. But again sad that you were too lazy to read further instead of assume. If you read my first reply it is a server related issue about Battlegrounds from the time I posted.
