I play mostly pvp so of course I see these things as a good sign but I have one criticism : the rewards can feel like someone thought : "These guys play pvp so let's give them pvp rewards I guess" without having spent more than 1h in cyrodiil. I get the logic but AP is pretty much the worst thing to give to pvp players.
Why ? Because every pvper out there has millions of AP sitting on their inventory ! It's like giving pve players styles that they already have.
This issue is often talked about : AP is useless. You can't buy anything with it except sets that are mostly trash (and the few ones that are good are already owned by everyone who has ever been in cyrodiil), wich you can also buy with gold anyways, so the only thing you can do is sell it for gold. I'd say the safest way to turn it into gold is to sell alliance spell draughts in guild traders. With the 300k AP the pursuit is giving us, we'd get 46k gold (with a unit price of 110, wich is really generous, and ignoring trader fees). What can you buy with that ?
Here's what pvp players actually want : upgrade mats. I'd say everytime I try to create a new build, I have to get at least 5 new gold pieces (since I'll always use rallying cry on the back bar and balorgh as a monster set) + kuta for the prismatic enchants, and let me tell you the 30k+46k gold we're getting in the golden pursuit isn't going to cut it... Maybe they could be bound to avoid billionaires from freaking out over seeing prices drop 0.246%. It would also encourage new players to check out pvp to get mats
