why is the launcher so annoyingly massive now?

Why do we even need a launcher? I play PC NA via Steam and I think the game should launch entirely once I click on PLAY in the Steam launcher. Makes absolutely NO sense that a second or even a third launcher is needed to play a game.

Thank God for GOG where I just download and install my games there and don't even need the GOG launcher anymore.

I don't use the launcher at all except for when there's a patch - which is just plain annoying.... Even WoW almost 20 years ago didn't require a stupid launcher app to download updates/patches - we got links a few days before release to download as we had time/bandwidth.

I just put ESO's .exe on my taskbar, and launch from there. And no, I do not now nor will I ever use steam for anything.

I actually like the larger size.

Perhaps many don't agree. Before I thought it was quite small and the buttons were so tiny.

Based on other comments, seems that we can tweck and adjust this. So if people don't like it they can make it small again.

If I wanted to update the game, then the launcher is necessary. Starting the game directly from eso64.exe is good enough for me (and one less program running in the background).

Still same for me as always. I using it only for game updates, because... eso64.exe anyway.
There is scalling for launcher. So check the settings

Hi all, just wanted to follow up here. We changed the launcher scaling to match Windows. However, as @davidtk noted, the scaling can be adjusted in the launcher settings.

I followed the steps here: "delete the launcher itself from the install directory". Then when following the link to the account management page, I ran up against the issue of no clear communication on how to fix the problem. And due having more than just C: but also D :, E:, F:, OS: (eso on E:) and lack of GB space on both C: and E: the 'suggestion' of downloading the game - again - became out of the question. However, by then I had already put the download doodah thingie for the game into my E: eso folder... so I mucked something up and am having to use the eso64.exe way of playing the game.
Tbh, you need to fix your own communication on these things. I would personally love to have a step-by-step-for-non-tech-savvy-people kind of guide to follow.
