Stolen clothes and the Outfit Styles system

With the great addition of disguises being unlocked as costumes, now might be the perfect time to discuss the purpose of stolen clothes found in various containers throughout the game, like these:

Currently, they don’t serve much purpose beyond roleplay since they lack stats. However, since each has a unique look, why not add them to the clothing section in Outfit Styles once discovered?
At the moment, this section feels quite underwhelming, as it currently only includes the seven pieces of clothing rewarded upon reaching level 40.

Just my two cents, but I think adding the extra 20 or so styles that already exist in the game would give the clothing category a much stronger purpose.

This would be a cool addition! It would also save on the bag and bank space in hoarding them all across various characters.

Yeah. I have a chest full of them in my house because I can't get myself to get rid of them.

Been requested for many years, and if I recall correctly once upon a time ZOS had even commented about thinking or working on it, but so far nothing.

I for one would love more clothing for outfits, especially immersive ones that makes us look like npcs. Some of the stolen clothings are simply cute.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

It feels so obvious with the Clothing category, but they just never did anything with it.

I would like these become an Outfit Style as well by finding them in the containers.

Either that or tied to achievements yeah. Just giving people a way to use clothing models already in the game.

This is actually a great idea.
People can start stealing from specific NPCs for common or profession styled clothes to use in the outfit system.
More people will therefore engage in the thieving system, which will also bring more attraction to the thieve's guild dlc for bonus passives. Plus, more special furnishings will be stolen along the run and potentially be put in the guild vendor for sale.
And then those who keep emptying all these pockets will without any doubt pick up antiquity leads which also draws attention to the Greymoor dlc.

No downside to this, only benefits. For both players and the company behind the game. You got my vote.

You can wear them, dye them, and the only downside is no defence. Making them into a "commoner" style would do the job.

Oh and if they could add the bonnet style hat from Gold Coast NPC's I'd love it, very Little House on the Prairie!

Who needs skins from trials and dungeons. We need hats from stealing.
