vSE 2nd boss - a thing that triggers

players hitting the portal crystal in any order repeatedly again and again no matter how many times or how clearly you tell them that they have to be struck in the order they rise. i try to tell them as clearly as i can. i give them a couple tries, then i just leave. why can't people learn that? i can't even tell them 'let me do it'. they just can't help themselves. ~minorly triggered~

Pug issues. You can explain things and ppl just don't look or are trolling.

I just learned to do it after being showed on my first run last week. Great raid by the way. it's not a difficult mechanic, I was curious why people were afraid of saying they'd do it. Though I like to learn all the weird portal stuff so I'm not caught with my pants down.

This is the kind of situation you can have in pugs.

I recently joined a pug for vCL (healer, as always). Let me tell you how it went:

The second healer joins the pug.
I ask him/her in chat what they are wearing.
No answer.
After that, I whisper and ask again.
Still no answer.
At that point, I just tell the group that I'm wearing PP/SPC, without knowing what the other healer is wearing.
We reach the first boss.
The second healer joins the same group as me, even though I said in chat: 'I stay on this side.'
Since the healer is in the same group as me, I switch and use the portal to join the other group.
Right after that, the second healer follows me.
...
I inform the chat that I am finally going back to the first group.
We finally start the fight.
The second healer doesn't heal anything, and his/her group gets wiped.
The second healer leaves the group.

I still can't figure if he/she was trolling, or just deeply incompetent.

yeah vLC has got lots of mindless mirror shenanigans going on, and it can be annoying, but in a pinch you can switch someone's mirror. sometimes even good players die or get their directions wrong. but i swear, vSE's 2nd boss portal thing really bugs me! of course you can't just strike any old crystal. ugh

My guilds open runs tended to struggle with mirrors more than the portal puzzle. It got bad enough I tended to run toons that could handle 2 to 3 mirror ticks.
