Don't know how else to describe it. these treasure maps i got with either imperial race or any race any alliance from the crown store gave me a mess of treasure maps and they are all marked ce on the end and every one of them contains gear like arm cops of frost and ice staff of flame and just a bunch of junk. none of them seems to contain any set items from the zones they are found in. what gives with this? Was i duped into cleaning up zos garbage chests?

✭✭✭✭✭That's how the basegame CE ones always work.
You get armor and weapons from your highest skill. No set items. They were designed to not give an unfair advantage to players. Of course, 11 years ago that was a concern, now they're just decon fodder. Absolutely nobody is getting that for the maps because the point is the Imperial race or the Any Race Any Alliance token.6 -

✭✭✭✭✭"CE" is Collector's Edition. To avoid being accused of Pay To Win, the gear in those store-purchased treasure chests is stuff that might be of use to a new character, but not really valuable within game economy. Yeah, a blue girdle of Wyrd Tree's Blessing would be far from Pay To Win, but Imperial goes back to the very earliest days of the game and ZOS were really nervous about being labeled a P2W game.4 -

the mats i collecte on the way way are worth more than the 'treasure' they contain0 -
