Tales of Tribute clue drops are murder

I've reached Master rank, beaten all the founders, collected all the decks... yet I am still 4 upgrade clues short of that one achievement which grants you the dye and Brahgas. Who knows how many more matches I will have to play, hoping for those clues to drop!

So here's my ask:
- please make the clues drop more often.
- please make the clues for the basic decks drop before dropping clues for newer decks. Once in a blue moon when I do get a clue... it's for a deck that doesn't count towards finishing that achievement, and it's such a let-down every time.

Please. I don't particularly enjoy ToT, but I am a completionist, and wanted to finish the story, which I have, and collect the houseguest, which I have yet to do. The grind is gruelling.

ADD: For instance, today I have won 10 matches (6 against regular NPCs for the PVE daily, 2 against players for the PVP daily, and 2 against my two remaining Founders) and handed in 4 daily quests (both kinds twice, as I picked them up yesterday and new ones again today)... and not a single clue (:

Are you maybe missing the clues from using the specific patrons in player vs player match made games?

No, I mean specifically the upgrades that you get from the clues that randomly drop from winning matches and turning in daily quests. I have all the other upgrades for all the regular decks.

(Specifically: Ansei's Victory, Ceporah's Insight, Knight Commander and Hagraven Matron upgrades. I have now double and triple checked that they are not obtained in any other way :D )

Tales of Tribute everything drops are murder.

After all this time, I still only have one of the card emote fragments. I swear the drop rate on those are worse than the drop rates we had for the Anniversary style pages last year.

some card upgrades are not obtainable via clues but via other achievements

like using the patron 10 times or beating the master of this deck - I didn´t see that at first and was wondering why some upgrades didn´t drop while I got the others quite quickly

The OP already said "I double and triple checked that they are not obtained in any other way."

With some patience you can get them in the IA, as the IA merchant sometimes sells clues.

Playing ToT to get clues is useless, so much time wasted for getting practically nothing in return. It is easier and much more relaxed to just wait for the IA merchant to sell these clues. Just playing the game normally in the meantime.

When I was down to about 7 or 8 missing clues, I used multiple toons to farm mine up faster.

Each day I'd dig up a few cheapo treasure maps with each character, and whichever one was triggering leads easier than the others, then I'd use THAT toon to play my ToT matches to obtain and open the reward boxes. I finished them up in a few days, less than a week. Also, if I had an active clue in my possession, I'd go collect it immediately before opening another reward box (dunno if that was a factor though).

I use the same method for pretty much any activity that depends on RNG to get the prize I'm lookin for.

I hadn't noticed clues at the IA merchant, only deck fragments. If also clues can be bought there, then the situation does get much better, even if not much faster. Thanks, I'll keep an eye out!

Have bought the ones I as missing there myself, I believe it is either a deck fragment or clue that can spawn at the merchant. Only one per week.

Some sites show the history of the IA merchant sales, maybe have a look at that.

The recent deck fragment in IA is the first one in months. Dunno that I'd put much faith in that source to find what you're missing.

Not sure if that is true, isn't it so that the clues and deck fragments can't be seen by those who already have them? That would mean a person has to manually check the merchant, and not rely on the IA merchant's information posted on the forums. (which is very much appreciated that someone is posting this information)

I will return to my complaint...

I've had a handful of better Tribute days, I am happy to report, and am now missing only one clue from the achievement: Ansei's Victory.

I took a page out of the book of one DenverRalphy here and started doing Tribute on ALL my 10 characters a few nights ago. It's paid off, at the cost of my sanity perhaps, but what's sanity compared to a houseguest and a dye, right?

Today I have done Kishka's daily quest on 9 characters. That's 27 wins, 9 daily quest containers, and a few losses here and there. And that's when I finally got a clue!

    For the Almalexia deck. :):):):)

Perhaps even funnier is that I have upgraded two cards from the Alessia deck... which I do not even own yet! I seem to be short two more Alessia upgrades, so with any luck, my next two bouts of mad grindfest will produce those upgrades, instead of the elusive Ansei.

Please, game-makers, have mercy and at least make the vanilla deck upgrades drop before the newer ones, please.

Ohh yeah this just got even better :joy:

So I got my unwanted Almalexia clue from my 9th daily quest. I put it in the bank, to be dug up a bit later, and pressed on with my remaining 10th character. And look what he got – the same clue!

So, uh, lesson learned: never leave a clue undug. You just might get a duplicate.

I'd call it cruel and unusual punishment but honestly it's almost funny by now.
