Rivenspire quest Dream Walk into Darkness still bugged - won't start with quest Ravenwatch Inquiry

And here is is, March 2025, 4 YEARS LATER, and still not fixed. I wasted ages stuffing around trying to do the Rivenspire quests for Cadwells Silver.
The first quest in the Zone also doesn't start at the point shown on the map when you start it from the zone guide. I had to go to the southern wayshrine, do a quest there, and then walk up to Shornhelm to get it to start.

✭Do you have the Markarth Prologue quest CURRENTLY active, "The Ravenwatch Inquiry"? Or its sequel, "The Gray Council"?
If so, either drop or complete these quests: and then the Rivenspire quest "Dream-Walk into Darkness" should start properly.
This is a known and (badly) designed piece of quest incompatibility with Verandis Ravenwatch having to be present for one, but absent for the other: similar to the comparable incompatibility involving Abnur Tharn's rescue in the Main Quest (Harborage) and his appearance in the Elsweyr Prologue (The Demon Weapon / The Halls of Colossus), where if one quest is active, the other cannot be started.
Oddly enough, this was NOT done with either Sai Sahan (also Main Harborage Quest / Dragonhold prologue) or Lyris Titanborn (also Main Harborage quest / Greymoor prologue).Edited by jle30303 on March 10, 2025 3:35PM0 -

Yes I did have Ravenwatch Inquiry. But it took me ages to figure out what was wrong. This is straight up a bug. If you attempt to start an incompatible quest (for story reasons), the game should prevent you.0 -

✭That;'s what the game *is* doing. Preventing you starting "Dream-Walk into Darkness" while "The Ravenwatch Inquiry" is active. If you had "Dream-Walk into Darkness" active first, you wouldn't have been able to start "The Ravenwatch Inquiry".0 -

It needs to TELL you that you can't start that quest, or make them compatible. Without it saying anything all it does is waste your time trying to do a zone quest.
Please stop wasting more of time time arguing about something taht even you say is badly designed.0
