I log in and my character just starts SWINGING??

She strikes a guard and I have to run for it, and she's SWINGING the whole time? I made it to the outlaw refuge, but what in Oblivion???

Yes. I pressed no attacks, she just started when I logged in, and I happened to be facing a guard (at the Vivec City bank).

Maybe the key bind for attacking was already stuck causing your character to repeatedly swing the weapon.

Sounds like something is up with your controller/keyboard.

I'd clean and test the keyboard/controller/mouse (whichever it is) outside the game and if it is fully working then rebind the heavy attack key in the game. If that works ok then rebind it back and see if that has cleared it. That's assuming logging out of the game and back in again didn't clear it.

had this problem in past, must be a bug isn't hardware related i got 30 mice and 3 keyboards all do it occasionally

Yeah, unless it’s common it might not be you. I have had heavy attacks randomly get stuck HAing before without me doing anything. Pulled a boss early in a trial trifecta core once because of that ha ha oops (at least I was off tank).

I've encountered this bug as well and felt rather silly when it happened in a random dungeon... I can't imagine what the other players thought...

yes i had this happen to me right after the maintenance this week. i was sure someone was hacking their servers an playing my toon. I also have prevent attacking innocents on and it was turned off somehow. you're not the only one.

I've noticed that one of my tanks using the style from a couple events ago always logs in with weapons drawn now. The only toon that does it.

It stopped after I jumped in the water to avoid the guards and swim around to the outlaw refuge.

It just happened again! Right after I zoned into a delve. Kept heavy attacking. It cleared when I did a light attack (dodge rolling didn't stop it).
