Tales of Tribute Standalone Game?

I'm addicted to Tales of Tribute. Seriously, it's embarrassing how much game time I spend playing it when I should be doing surveys, dungeons, dailies, etc. I would love if there was a standalone version for my phone! I'm fairly certain you could make some coin for sure! Heck, charge for the extra decks, if it's a phone game pay-to-win is a given. Oh, how about a Horker Deck! It could have Milk Drinker, Lyris's Axe, and Arrow in the Knee cards! Rigurt the Brash could be the patron! Come on these things literally write themselves!

Here, here, take my money!

Tales of Tribute should not be a standalone game, it should be an app as an extension of ESO. Let us log into our ESO account in the app, allow us to select a character in the app, and allow us to select to play against either NPC's or other players. Mail us the results/rewards of the matches to the in-game character we selected, so we do have to log in to/play ESO to receive the rewards.

This way we can play ToT without logging into the megaservers, while still advancing our ESO account. Even players who may not like ESO at first glance(or may not want to play ESO at all) may eventually get curious about ESO when playing ToT in the app.

Wow, "should not be". Sorry for having an opinion lol.

I think linking it to the game would present more problems than it would be worth (again, my opinion).

Can you imagine ... missing rewards, unable to reach server, servers down, and on and on. I mean, I writing this during another extended maintenance (4am-11am) and this time range has been the shortest one in recent weeks, if, and its always an if, the servers come back up on time.

Also, linking it to the game would limit the number of decks available or make you do in game content to update your cards and all that jazz. Too complicated for something for me to play while on the toilet lol.

Nah, I just wanna play cards! Give me cool bells and music as rewards lol. Oh, and maybe more fiber!

I would add to this that we shouldn't have quests that require us to play/win ToT matches. I will forever have hollow carrots in High Isle and other regions.

Sorry if that sounded harsh in any way, it was not intended that way. Making ToT into an app that has the regular in-game rewards tied to it, would be the best and only option in my opinion. As that would basically be a standalone thing as you suggested, but with some ties to the game.

You could unlock decks in-game once, and then never leave your toilet again. Hypothetically speaking, though you could technically also do this literally if you wanted to! :|B)
Unlocking the decks in-game should benefit the decks available in the app. This being tied to the game would actually be a plus. Promoting both ToT and the game.

PS: We should not let potential bugs or problems stop ourselves from posting our suggestions!

Don't think it would have enough interest to make it a viable business option.

Agreed. Their previous card game was shut down as business failure due to lack of interest. And looking at the current traffic in ToT … it would have been not solvent were it be a standalone game and would have ceased to exist.

I have said to friends for years that I would play tot if it was a mobile game. Especially if you could earn in game rewards for playing a mobile version. All my friends agree, they feel the same! I don’t have any interest in sitting in front of my computer during play time for an in game tot. That’s the time I have to participate in group content with many people.

I like playing ToT between in-game activities. Making it a standalone game will potentially reduce the number of player that play ToT in game. So, it would be harder to get matches. The pool of players is shallow as it is.

one way to help prevent that might be to just not have PvP type games available through the app? That way the people who want to play against other players won't go to the app, while the people who want to play just against AI can still do so.

Or they might make it so that it is more rewarding to play TOT against another player in game, while no rewards or very minimal rewards by playing through the app. Basically encourage players who want to play against other players to go in game to do so.

If the app is all about playing against AI, I have no issues with that. I personally would not use it but I do not see why other players can't enjoy it.

Yeah, for me, it is the opposite, if it were all about playing against other players, I personally wouldn't use it.

I'd like to thank everyone for coming by to crap on my dreams today lol. I just checked in and read the comments and was like, "Oh, okay, so bad idea, got it"

Also, I had no idea people don't like playing ToT. But today I did notice I play quite a few people over and over again. Oh well!

Thanks for taking the time to enlighten me!

I prefer they remove it from the main game including their related achievements. Same thing for PVP.

I like the idea of a separate app but I'd prefer it to be linked to this game rather than it's own, p2w thing.

Well, ToT is a niche and a totally different genre then ESO itself, so it isn't strange only few like playing it. This is also why it may actually catch on as an app linked to the game, someone could make an ESO account and play ToT in the app non-stop, even if they do not care about the in-game rewards(could let the reward mails expire). Personally I do not like logging into the ESO game only to play a small tabletop game on my newest hardware computer. It feels weird doing so. ToT can be fun though, and I did enjoy playing it when I leveled it to max rank(8) for the achievements.

However, I would love to be able to play a game of ToT on my tablet or phone every now and then when I don't have enough time to log into the ESO game itself on my computer.

They had a very nice standalone game called TES Legends and they killed it deliberately.

it takes about 15 mins to match up to anyone on ToT at the best of times so i dont think theres enough interest in the game, let a lone having a standalone version.

There used to ba a stand alone eso card game and it was cancelled and then some time later, presumably at the behest of the players, a card game was added to eso...

Why is that? Does it intrude upon your gameplay in any way?
