I received this medal worth 500 points, "Expert Relic Runner". This was in addition to the 500 medal points i received for getting the relic. I googled this and couldn't find anything anywhere.
Can anyone shed a light on what the requirement is for this?
It is not listed in the battlegrounds>medals:Capture the Relic section of help either.

Delimber✭✭✭Sounds like an achievement.
Look in your pvp achievements, under battlegournds.Solo PvP and PvE most of the time.

xyphrum✭✭✭Capturing a relic indeed gives 500 points (Relic Runner)
The first time you do this you also get 111 points (First Relic)
The second time you also get 500 points (Expert Relic Runner)
After that, there are Superb Relic Runner and maybe even Elite Relic Runner.1
