What's your stance on faction loyalty?

Each of my characters are loyal to their respective faction.
I don’t feel any strong attachment to these fictional groups. It’s just part of interacting with the game to me.

I play in any faction that is currently convenient for my needs, whatever they may be. Some of my characters are loyal to their faction, and some don't care since in my stories they don't even go to Cyro in the first place or do war stuff. I've got most of my characters in AD and EP, and only two in DC.

I'm not loyal to any faction, while some of my characters are loyal to their respective faction, but many of my characters I don't consider part of any of the factions. They are either independant or loyal to something else. Such as my imperials who doesn't like any of the three factions waring over their lands instead of daedra.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

It happened quite some time ago, when I was farming Transmutes in an empty campaign, that I took a DC character and conquered resources, then jumped on an AD character and conquered the same resources, then jumped to the EP character and conquered same resources...
Sooo, I wouldn't define myself as loyal to a faction, and neither my characters since I occasionally evaluate to use Alliance change tokens on some of them. But I can roleplay faction loyalty XD

When I'm on an AD character, I feel fake. Like a doppleganger pretending to be an AD character or something. I never feel right on AD.

AD is my favourite, but in pvp I'll side with whoever is the most convenient. Don't see the point of being loyal to a fictional group, unless you really like the players there, and those players don't have other alliance alts.

I'm not exactly faction loyal in the PVP/RP sense, but I've been playing bretons exclusively since TES Oblivion and it would feel strange to play any other race, so I guess I'm loyal in a global sense.

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

My characters aren't interested in the Alliance War, so they have no loyalty to the three alliance factions. I wish we weren't forced into choosing an Alliance faction.
It only makes a difference in PvP, and I'm not greatly interested in that aspect of the game (though I do occasionally open myself up to PvP).
If it was optional, I might have characters devoted to an alliance faction (for those occasional forays into PvP), but I'd rather we weren't forced to have ALL of our characters be associated with one of the alliances.

I wish there was a more robust faction system in this game so that we could earn rapport/reputation with various other non-alliance groups, such as werewolves, vampires, witches, wildlife, Daedric Princes, thieves, assassins, etc.

To be honest... this is something I've kind of struggled with over time. The best answer I can think of, is most of the time the character I'm on might be involved with an Alliance for a specific purpose and I think its best to leave it that way. The thing is, again, just because you have like the best intentions towards an Alliance, could be you like the lore, could be the one your friends are already with, could be your favorite color lol, it doesn't mean that those feelings are going to reciprocate.

I have characters of every race and faction. Some of my characters are more interested in the Alliance War than others. When I play in the PVP zones during events, I usually park my High Elf in Cyrodiil and my Orc in Imperial City, so I'm playing some AD and some DC. My first character was a Khajiit, so if I had to choose one faction, I'd go AD, but really I'll play for any of them depending on which character I'm using at the moment.

I play EP 95% of the time, mostly because I decided to focus on one character to rank up. But I started with AD and switched to DC for a bit before joining a friend in EP. I don't have any real life loyalty to one faction or another. Each has mostly nice players, and each faction constantly complains the other two are colluding or cheating. It's the same no matter which you choose, lol.

RP-wise, none my characters support the war, let alone a single faction. For them the war is just an annoying distraction from their constant efforts to stop whichever daedra du jour is currently trying to take over the world :P

When I'm on an AD character, I feel fake. Like a doppleganger pretending to be an AD character or something. I never feel right on AD.

      Why?

PS. My response probably should’ve been “other.” Whoops.

In playing through the basegame quests, you see the factions at their best and at their worst. At their best, the AD is paternalistic. The Altmer under the rule of Ayrenn are far less supremacist than is normal for them, which makes it easy to overlook that they're still supremacists. Ayrenn wants everyone safe and prosperous under the benevolent rule of the only race qualified to lead. And that's Altmer at their best.

As for PVP, I've played all factions. Everything is subjective, YMMV, all the usual caveats, but all the worst behavior seems most common amongst Team Banana. There's absolutely no good reason for this to be true, but it sure looks consistent from my perspective. (And yeah, there was a time a while back when it was Team Blueberry, but the streamer who was the locus of that has moved on, and a lot of toxicity seemed to go with him.)

The game really kind of goes out of its way to make the AD look bad. The entire Shadowfen zone quest is all about taking a break from internal strife and just fighting the AD.

Every other alliance is all about dealing with domestic, internal threats, with a side quest or a delve here and there where the other alliances show up (like the Ra'Gada pirates in Malabal Tor, but I don't think they're even actually affiliated with the Covenant).

Which is another reason I think the Pact storyline is disjointed and weird. Every other alliance has had enough daedra-strewn discord to fill out all the main zone quests with purely internal matters, but the writers got to Shadowfen and just... Couldn't think of a reason why there would be any Argonian unrest? We have to take a breather from dealing with the machinations of Molag Bal to fight elves. For that matter, Molag Bal barely had anything to do with Stonefalls, either. And Bleakrock was also about an alliance invasion.

Like, what, did Molag Bal look at the Pact and go "Nah, no way I can enflame any tensions between Nords and Dark Elves and their former slaves, they all just love each other too much!"

Each of my characters are loyal to their respective faction.
TBF I would probably never say I'm faction loyal so maybe I don't really count for this poll :P However, none of my characters would ever betray their faction because I am not paying like $25 or whatever insane price to change their faction haha

Mostly EP, but I do not factor their alliance faction into anything, especially within roleplay.
      PC-NA. Khajiit and Argonian only.
      Wary on posting.

I play whatever faction my friends are playing. If I don't have a ready char of the class I want to play on that faction, I may alliance change an existing character rather than have to level/grind a new one.
