Question does anyone actually use drinks in the game?

I never use them because I want the increase in max health, stamina or magicka

If you do use the drinks why?

    Yes, depending on content/build

Witchmother Potent Brew is one of the better drinks for Magicka toons.

Purifying/Corrupting Bloody Mara are great too if you don't need the Magicka sustain

Orzoga Red Frothgar is particularly great for tanks looking to maximize Magicka sustain

Dubious Camoran Throne is the stam version of Potent Brew

Also, Potent Brew, Bloody Mara, and Dubious Throne aren't level locked: you can use them on a brand new toon

Potent Brew gives Magicka and Magicka sustain, it's a big reason why it's so popular

Bloody Mara gives max Magicka and health

Frothgar gives Max health, and a whole bunch of Magicka sustain

Throne is max stam and stam sustain

I actually prefer Frothgar to Bear Haunch/Jewels of misrule as the stam sustain isn't necessary all that much on a tank, but Magicka sustain definitely is

There are other, more "niche" drinks in the game, these are just the really popular and most used ones

I can't remember if Ghastly Eye Bowl is a drink or a food, but it's hugely popular for Magicka toons while parsing

Only if it gives more resources as well as faster regeneration.

You can't do any damage if you run out resources, and some builds/classes are harder to sustain than others, especially in longer fights, and especially if you are not a top-tier player with a perfect rotation. For your average player, running out of resources in a long boss fight is going to be more of a negative thing than doing 3% extra damage because you have a couple thousand more max magicka or max stamina is going to be a positive thing.

the event recipes are pretty decent, it is my go to for my arcanist that needs more sustain help while giving more hp.

I only really use them when an endeavor wants me to, and then I just collect some trash drinks from the inn in Coldharbour or something and chug them. I've even started destroying all of the crown drinks we get from logins and such because they're not worth the inventory space.

However this thread has reminded me of some of the actually useful drinks, and I do have some stacks of Witches Brew and Camoran Throne sitting around that I suppose I could use if I remembered that they existed. :D

There is a stipulation on the armor set that stops me from using drinks or the class will not use the set. Back Alley Gourmands, it is a very good set to get crit damage but I found that it can only be used on Stamina builds. Yeah that really hurts the drink on this particular case.

Yes, depending on what I'm doing, but not often. Usually I just use the fortifying meals.

I use witchmothers on all my mag characters. It’s max health, max mag, mag recovery. Eyeball (max mag, mag recovery) and lava foot (max stam, stam recovery) are parse food for mag and stam dps, respectively.

Depending on the situation, content and character I'm using, of course, yes.

Ok, so I guess I was not clear enough. I was talking about player made drinks that like the ones that Zeos gives in the daily give outs. No max stats just increases to regen.

I understand using something that gives max health and max stat.

I use only food because of the max health and max sta or mag

    Thanks again for the replies

I will try and be clearer next time!

There are quite a few uses for the mag regen+stam regen drinks, particularly in certain tanking scenarios.

DDs in well-practiced, optimized groups will sometimes use regen food without max buffs for better overall DPS during long fights, especially in fights where they're not taking a lot of damage anyway, so the max health isn't necessary.

In fact I have never seen any player recommend me to use any drinks only have recovery in any build...

Witchmother's Potent Brew on Mag-heavy toons, Dubious Camoran Throne on Stam.

I also use Purifying/Corrupting Bloody Mara, but only to maintain vampire stage 2 on my vamp toons (I use sugar skulls on those toons for food, the only "food" I use).

I do, every single one of my magicka characters uses the ghastly eyeball max mag & mag regen drink in PVE. I can't function in this game without that drink.

    I don't use drinks.
I *would*, if we could have both a food and a drink active at the same time, but since you can only have one or the other, I stick with various foods, depending on which character I'm running, and make-up resource regen some other way.

Ahh yeah, I just delete those. I haven’t heard of anyone using pure recovery. Tanks usually at minimum run max stam, dps max resource, healer max mag. There’s other ways of supplementing recovery without sacrificing resources.
