Food description with "akin another player"

Hello All
Sorry if my question is stupid, but when the description of a food effect has the precision "...akin another player...", what does it mean exactly? That if I'm solo, I get no benefit from the food, or is it a scaling in % based on amount of players around, with an existing - minimum - benefit for the case 0 players around (meaning, even if solo, I get a benefit)?

✭✭✭✭✭Are you talking about the food that buffs fishing? Fishing chances increase the more people are at the fishing hole.
