hey everyone, well if you guys ever decide like I did today that it was time to clean up your pc like crazy and reformat the hard drive.

then make sure to do it so when you start downloading and installing the game, you hit the time where you can go to bed when startet, and wake up when its done :)

had forgotten that its about 33 GB game and 20 GB patch :D

have serios game jitters and need to see a shrink from not being able to log in and get my fix :)

Whenever I format I install a new HDD/SSD. They are like tires on a car and do wear out fairly quickly if you game as much as I do, and that leaves me with all my data on the old drive that I can simply copy back over. You can also just copy the zenimax folder to an external and copy it back after your done, just move the launcher from the folder to your desktop. Games don't really store much in the registry anymore

I recommend you start using an S.M.A.R.T. monitoring tool like gSmartControl to verify the health of a disk before just tossing it in the dumpster. I execute a tremendous amount of I/O transactions on my disks -- far more than simply gaming would entail -- and they last for years. Since you should be reformatting at least once per year, that's a disgusting rate of usage -- either you're wasting hard drives en masse, you're not reformatted nearly often enough to keep your system running smoothly, or you're buying some extremely shoddy hardware made in somebody's basement with tinfoil and duct tape.

Of course, if you have the money then you may as well burn it freely I suppose. Government organizations throw them away like used toothpicks. Sure, they're made using extremely rare earth metals that are found almost exclusively in China alone, but we may as well change them like socks.
