I don't care if you have to purchase it with crowns, but I am tired of trying to trade crowns for gold. Almost everyone I know has left game so I have to trade with players i don't know. And so much price undercutting even when someone agrees some other seller runs in with a cheaper price. Just let me buy gold. It's the same things as "gifting". Also, this would make it easier for players that can't gift (I'm not one of those).

PLEASE.

Trading with players for existing gold and generating gold from the store are two very different things. For a little bit of convenience you would introduce a high yield unlimited gold source. Even with the introduction of an approximately comparable gold sink you would just needlessly strain the economy. When you devalue ingame-gold like this it almost always has a hugely detrimental effect.
And don't cite the GW2 store as a positive example, I fail to see anything good about that games economy or crafting-grind systems.

Maybe rather cut out the middleman. What do you wish to buy with gold that would require such a transaction?

What would the exchange rate be though? Good idea, but the rates would probably not be very favorable.

Favorable is subjective. Currently, it is what the market would bear, which also depends on how many buyers and sellers there are. Obviously, if it were clear demand was higher than the supply, those selling would rightfully raise their prices.

Zenimax should create a trading system. A similar thing can happen with pricing in the trading system that removes the player-to-player interaction. People would post their crowns or gold for a specific return. Those with the most favorable offers are more likely to get the sales.

Ofc, Zenimax would add a tax or fee, creating a situation where it would not be favorable to buy and sell back and forth. Then again, the safest crown/gold trading we currently have involves a fee being paid.

You could ofc farm IA and buy the chests of gold already available for fortunes! :)

Even selling crown packages in guild stores would be okay. I just don't like to be hawking zone chat "selling crowns". Last time I was selling 1400:1 and player said okay and they actually mailed me 1100:1. They said they found crowns at that rate. I looked at the amount and had not purchased the item they wanted so I just returned the mail with the gold they had attached. I was afraid I would somehow be banned for not mailing them the "gift" even though I returned the mail.

This trading crowns for"gifts" has always been sketchy to me unless it was with players I knew. Now, I don't know many players and almost no one buys items from the crown store. Somehow, they can get them cheaper.

I do wish it was just a menu where people can send in crowns/gold for conversion like other mmos have.

There are still at least two Discords that facilitate gifting by using a middleman so both seller and buyer are safe.

Looking at your 1:1400 price you would get substantially more than that on one of these Discords even after fees. 🙂

Yeah like other MMO's. I really don't want to deal with players any more than I absolutely have to.

I might try one. I really don't like talking on discords now. Too many creepy people around.

Overcomplicated. Just make it bind after first moving from original account. And whole exchange via exchange market. Similar system can be found in french old MMO Dofus - it works just perfect. For ESO just need to add expire timer after binding so there will be no sense to stock pile of blinded crowns.
