Midyear Mayhem is an Unplayable Mess

Another year, another Midyear Mayhem—except this time, it’s somehow even worse. The lag is absolutely unbearable, disconnects are happening left and right, and the whole event is borderline unplayable. How is this still an issue after so many years?

Battlegrounds? A slideshow. Cyrodiil? A crash simulator. Imperial City? Good luck staying connected long enough to cash in your Tel Var. Between abilities not firing, rubberbanding across the map, and getting kicked every other fight, there is zero enjoyment to be had.

This isn’t just a "PvP is always laggy" problem—this is on a whole different level. It feels like the servers just can’t handle the event traffic at all. We go through this every year, and nothing ever changes.

Zenimax, if you want people to actually enjoy PvP, you need to fix your servers. No amount of double AP is worth the frustration of trying to play in this mess.

Anyone else dealing with constant crashes and lag spikes? Or is this just the new "Midyear Experience" now?

It's a DDOS, they said it's a DDOS, and FFXIV is also being attacked at this time per their status page.

Yeah I see akamai in the routing table so the chances they are fighting off a DDOS right now are high. Even if they aren't getting hit right now I know when akamai is in my routing table my games going to be really spotty for sure.
