What's going on in Cyrodil?

Because of the new Golden Pursuits, I decided to attempt the quests in Cyrodil. No matter how many times I requested group invites as we all took the farm etc around the other alliance's keep, and then the keep, over 15 times I asked, no one would invite me to a group. What the heck is going on? I've played with groups there before, never had an issue, so now I'm irked. Can anyone tell me what's up?

I don't know. What I do know is that this MYM so far feels dead. Way less players on the field than the last years, seems like this time the popcap wasn't raised. It feels just like any other day in PvP with a longer queue, but not more players.

Unlike PvE, there's no viable infrastructure for forming random PvP raids, in part because leading one is vague and demanding. There's a handful of guild leads that still do it, but usually players "solo zerg surf" where you listen to zone chat for the next big fight, and follow the big "zerg" made of other random solos and small groups.

Make a group in group finder. It's exactly like PVE. Not many do though.

Pretty much, back when I first started to PvP I would post a lfg and never got picked up once from zone chat.

It's possible the groups around you were already full or people weren't looking at chat, I know I rarely check it while I'm actively PvPing. If nobody invites you, try asking if anyone needs a group and you might find others in the same situation to team up with. Sometimes you just get unlucky though. In the past I've been invited simply because I was healing and supporting people and they noticed.

Wow, that was not my experience just now. On PC EU, just to be clear. I had to wait in queue for Grey Host for over half an hour, so I was biding time in Imperial City which was also poplocked. Once I got into Cyrodiil, there were battles all over, many of them small, but a huge epic 3-way battle at Faregyl. I had to log off so I can go take care of something, but when I get back I'll be heading in for more. I got 5 pursuits done, plus 3 daily endeavors (PSA: Gati's adds in IC sewers count as Storm Atros), and most of remaining pursuits are well under way to being done. It's been a fun Mayhem for me and it's only partway through the first day of the event. :+1:

Casual PvE groups don't need a leader to make calls, you play your familiar role competently enough, your group clears it. Even casual PvP groups need a leader who can call objectives and tactics, which are vastly different from PvE, and raid members need to adapt to unfamiliar role archetypes in which DDs need to be more durable and self sufficient, while Healer/Tank are effectively merged into the same overall function of Support.

This isn't to be discouraging, this is just to explain why there are so few casual PvP raids, the PvP itself is not easy, so even casual raids end up needing to rely on cores of dedicated guild regulars to form a backbone of support, and there are only a few of those left running. If you want to put together a casual raid of 12 randoms with no experienced lead, I would recommend still following the big zerg to learn, less riding to back keeps where you get rolled by X'ers.

Is there a reason, though, why people are all x-ing up in chat, the same way I am, but I'm not invited? I mean I've got over 3K CP, you'd think they'd want me.

They are just throwing "x" out there in hopes someone has an auto-invite running on typing "x" in chat. They are not getting into a group, either.

Over 3K CP's mean nothing in PvP. Mean nothing in PvE either.

There are only a couple of crowns on my campaign, and ever since the group size went from 24 to 12 it has been hard to get into a group.

Most players follow zone text chat and go solo.

It is hard to get into groups these days when ZOS cut the group size in half. Some crowns are apprehensive about inviting pugs into their group because of unknown builds that the pugs are using... Not to mention the bad health bar that most pugs have... which causes most of the wipes in the group due to them proc'ing vicious death from bombers.

I would recommend that you find a good PvP guild to join if you're interested in doing AvA PvP.

An auto group just like dungeon ques should be added for a 12 player group, no roles added. Today I did forum a group in one of the off camps to successfully stop emp run. Only to be yelled out by someone in one of my guilds because they were wanting to flip emp and give it to different players.

I don't group because the main reason is VD. I avoid places with players, even though I usually have 0 lag I am not repairing or standing on rams or flags so how can I lead or join groups?

In addition, when the ball groups take over keeps, even tri keeps, I go to another keep. Most of the veteran PVPers do the same. Quite a few have stated they are no longer fighting anywhere near them. Could care less about the campaign objectives, we no longer care. IDC if my faction ever wins a campaign again.

Most players who are capable of leading a group will either join a pvp guild, removing the need for them to lfg, or not group at all because they just don't like it. Best thing to do if you type lfg in zone chat and don't get an invite is to start inviting all the other lfgs into a group yourself.

If you learn a bit how to read the map you really dont need a group - you get the heals, people rez you, target calls are often posted in zone chat. I just start and go where the defs and sieges are happening.

Usually after a few min playing along with others I get an invite anyways and you can still post a lfg in the meanwhile. But not having a group really doesnt make that much of a difference.

At this time of year, most pvp guilds will be actively recruiting new members. Watch your zone chat for advertisements. Pvp is a lot more fun for a new player if they're grouped up with others.
