Unjustified Social Ban in Sequence

Dear @ZOS_Adrikoth and @ZOS_Bill , please help! I apologize if I am not tagging the correct gamemasters for this issue, but I do not know what else to do.

I have been receiving social bans for no reason. I have no idea on why this is happening or what is causing the issue. I do not use mail add ons or send many mails at all. I have played ESO for many years, currently signing ESO+ and bought the new chapter.

This makes the game impossible to be played, for many reasons. For example, I cannot buy any mats on guild stores to craft basic stuff like potions or use scribing. Also is a total embarassment, because I have to keep explaining why I cannot interact with the guild members or fullfill my dues.

I opened the ticket 240706-006035 on the 6th of july and did not receive any attention so far. I has been almost 3 days.

Also, have tickets: 240622-000287, 240617-004830, 240301-002032, 230703-003089, which were all opened to deal with the same issue.

Please, help!

    Hi Bill, thanks for your reply, but this is very sad to say the least. Not the personal message I was hoping for. I am going to the 4th day without playing and to be honest the message forum was my last resort. Not mentioning that this is happening with aburd frequency.

    I had in game events scheduled this week, specially PvP runs and will have to cancel because I cannot even buy mats.

    I will just leave as it is for now, but this is no way to treat a long time customer.

    This kind of issue takes all the desire to play this game away...

    Dear @ZOS_Bill, my social ban was removed earlier today, however after a trial raid could not trade gear with the group.

    Yes, I am social banned again, a few hours after the previous ban was removed. I have been dealing with this issue now since the 6th of july.

    I need assistance please, not only to get the social features back, but also to find out what is triggering the social ban. I receive the same generic answer all the time:

    Thank you for your patience during our investigation! After a review of the account, we have made a slight adjustment and you should be able to engage in normal social functions once again. If you have any questions, please let us know.

    would probly help if you just had one ticket for your issue. in addition to that try disabling all addons. if the problem stops (after the ban is lifted) then it was a problem with an addon you were using. go 1 by 1 until you figure it out, then never use that addon again/request it to be updated/etc.

    It seems that the problem is not an add on, since the ban was lifted, along with the following message:

    Greetings,

    Your account was automatically muted as a precautionary measure due to the detection of unusual IP activity. This step is taken to prevent any potential fraudulent behavior and to ensure the security of your account.

    We recommend contacting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to discuss the possibility of obtaining a static IP address, which can help avoid such issues in the future.

    unusual IP activity<<<This can be caused by and add on. Most likely that it what it is as it keep happening over and over. As the other posted stated disable them all and add them back one by one. An automated program with ZoS is flagging something with an add on.

    Also four days is very quick for a response considering how many tickets ZoS gets per day.

    Dear @ZOS_Bill , I am tagging you, since you assisted me last time this happened.

    I have received another unjustified social ban and need my functions restored as soon as possible. I cannot play this game without interacting with players and guild traders. My ticket is 250214-002589.

    It is the 6th time that I have to deal with this situation, as per tickets 240622-000287, 240617-004830, 240301-002032, 230703-003089 and 240706-006035.

    It’s the weekend. They have on call support for technical emergencies only, they don’t have anybody working regular issues until Monday. Maybe Tuesday if they’re closed for President’s Day.

    I sent an email asking for reimburse on all those days. If there is no support service on weekends, it is not fair to charge either.

    If I don't receive a compesation, will cancel my subscription and spend somewhere else where my plans are more important.

    I'm in your boat. We're definitely just SOL until tuesday. I'm a guild leader too and we had an auction last night- I can't put MILLIONS into our guild bank......... that we need by tuesday at noon for bidding. And I work tuesday so even if I do get unbanned by then, my guild will not have the money from our auction to be able to bid.

    I'm a carebear too, I am certain I wasn't banned for actually saying something bad. They must be using some horrible new AI chat bot. Funny that it's their bots this time causing havoc.

    Oh, and it's my birthday today. *sad party popper sounds*

    Well, first of all happy birthday! Hope you find some joy, despite ESO issues... hehe

    I am sorry to read that @Leighlaa . Hope some miracle happens to save your guild's bid. It is very weird to me they provide the service during the weekends, but not support. For many players, weekends are the only free time to play.

    I am sure this ban is not related to anything you said or wrote anywhere. It is the 6th time this happens to me and I have never said one word that would justify a social ban.

    Last time, support said my ip activity triggered the ban. Probably, it is the same issue this time around.

    @Tcholl I actually probably have a solution for you. This happens when you have bad internet, and use movement / teleport skills. I was getting social banned nonstop when using the vampire teleport Elusive Mist. Do you play from a high ping area, and use any skill similar to this?

    I play from Brazil and yes ping is always high. I also have used a lot of dragon leap on bgs so that might be the issue. Would you have any suggestion other than avoid those kind of skills?

    As ZOS in general are fairly incompetent, you'll just have to avoid the skills. I was copping social bans for like 3 months, there is nothing support will do to give you social ban immunity, the issue will just persist.

    They should at least have a quick solution, in case of mistakes. It is not ok to keep a faulty system and don't have any support for days.

    A little empathy would go a long way to ZOS/Bethesda.

    They just need a captcha-based reset button on the website for this sort of thing. One of the captchas that require a human and not a bot. :smile:

    I was unbanned on time!!! We got Goh :) VERY happy! I ended up attaching my guild's auction document with ALL the links, and I was unbanned by 10:07 eastern on monday morning. All in all, while I'm pretty sure I should've never been banned to begin with, they cleared it up pretty quickly so I didn't have to practice patience long.

    Hopefully, they tweak the AI to not flag me like this in the future!

    The social ban occurs when the PC sends too many requests to the server in a given amount of time. Zenimax can control what the client does but has no control over add-ons and, therefore, does not support them in any way, including refunds, due to issues the add-ons cause.

    I am so sorry you have incurred this experience yet again. I do not expect a refund or an extension of days. \
