Happy about the "test", it's ZOS' last chance with me

I've been running around Blackreach on Xbox NA at night sometimes after most players have gone off to sleep because of a timezone difference. There may even be no bars for all 3-alliances. I'll go attack a resource alone and lately it's become more and more apparent how bad performance in this game is. With almost no players on the map I can barely fire skills to kill guards. I'll press buttons 4-times by the time I see even 1 of my skills firing and I don't even press buttons all that quickly. So it's taking a full second or 2 by the time my button presses are making it to their servers and back to my Xbox I guess. In a performance based game where even the slightest latency matters this is unacceptable. I for one am glad they are doing "the test". And I'm OK with some sets or skills being changed a bit if the results at least make the game playable. I died to guards twice within a few minutes at resources last night because my skills either wouldn't fire or did so slowly that I may as well have been running around without pressing any buttons at all. I've been taking resources for years alone without problems. It would be great if the player vs player fighting had latency removed so I can actually see the attacks from other players that are incoming. But please also fix other aspects of PVP. Find a way to make the game responsive enough so that a player can actually take a resource like they used to in the past. With the map almost empty a guard fight shouldn't be unplayable. I have a Series X with half-gig fiber internet and am hardwired in. No slow Wi-Fi involved. Nobody else in the house is even using the internet. So the issue IS on their server side. I'm hopeful that the upcoming test will lead to some results that make the game playable again. if not I don't think I can stick around any longer. I'm OK being dead because another player is better than me but if I can't see incoming attacks or can't fire skills at guards in a timely manner I'm going to leave and play another game and not come back. The performance and the "stuck in combat" issues ruin the whole PVP experience and I'm about at the point where I don't want to play anymore. I'm tired of running on foot between keeps that are very far away from each other. It's bad enough spending half the night on mounts playing a horse simulator but being stuck on foot is much much worse. Please ZOS fix this mess of a game mode known as PVP

    100%. I mostly play in Grayhost PC NA these days, but even in blackreach Ive had the same thing. It can be well off from prime time, low populations, no PVP in sight, and guards (in particular the flag guards who cant move, not the others) seem to cause a significant skill delay. It isnt always happening, but it isnt uncommon either. With performance being so shoddy as it is, I haven't questioned it, but youre making me think about it, and now Im wondering if maybe theres some spaghetti code for resource guards that is a part of the problem.

    Ive done no official testing in any capacity, so its entirely anecdotal, but I feel like there are specific resources that are worse than others with this (for example, I pretty much always encounter this at Bloodmayne Farm and Dragonclaw Mine, off the top of my head. I'll have to ponder and take notes next time I play to confirm and see what others do it, as I know theres a few that I always hit first when cutting keeps because they seem to always cause me problems)

    Additionally.... some resource flags seem to be LOS while others arent (in particular Bloodmayne Farm comes to mind) where the flag block targeting, which doesnt seem to be the case on all resources. Related? idk, I didnt cook this pasta.

    Faction npcs have always been full of bizarre behavior and obsolete versions of skills, like the old self-reflect version of Eclipse, wonder why they didn't remove them from the Vengeance strip-down too.
    PC/NA || Cyro/BGs || RIP old PvP build system || bring Vengeance
