For low-levels a good place for vampires is just outside the Ondil delve in Auridon. You can also go inside, but the bloodsuckers outside respawn quickly. I knocked it out in about fifteen minutes last night.

Difficulty of these Golden Pursuits? What? Where? Is this a trial hard mode?

I already completed them and it's been not even two days yet.

I'm honestly really surprised that anyone can find these tasks difficult.

It's more like: lower level / newer accounts may not have the ability to go to Coldharbor or Skyrim or other maps to kill all the vampires, for example. Or the Infinite Archives. Same for using treasure maps. On both my baby accounts, over the entirety of the last event I got many, many treasure maps --- and only one I could actually use.

In the mentioned instances, unless they find someone to port them, the lacks remove four of the 15 possibilities immediately.

But I'm glad you completed your Pursuits.

They won't have the ability to do 10.000 things until they level up, so nerf those 10.000 things, right?

Nerf trials, nerf dungeons, nerf arenas, nerf infinite archive, nerf craglorn, nerf world bosses, nerf new zones, nerf pvp, nerf guards, nerf wasps, nerf endeavors, nerf golden pursuits, nerf prices until they have gold, nerf everything becasue you know, low levels just joined the game...

I can't complete the golden pursuit because I...

    don't steal
    don't pick locks
    don't socialize
    don't claim login rewards
    don't wanna be a vampire
don't wanna learn where to find vampires to kill
don't wanna visit other players' homes and don't own a home of my own
don't wanna spend gold on treasure maps
    don't wanna do IA
    don't like questing.

Please include tasks that I can complete next time.

I’m sorry, but this didn’t really help at all lol.

This months golden pursuits assume you have vampire characters, and also assumes you participate in theft/criminal actions.

I think I do have one character that I completed the DB storyline on so I can use him to complete some of these, but even with that I don’t do group content and even the reviving players one I’ll probably have to spam chat to find people to get it done.

It’s just a very restrictive month especially compared to last month.

I have no vampire characters and will not be doing that pursuit, but should be able to do at least 12 regardless.

Aside from base game zones like Rivenspire, there are vampires just east of Salothan’s Tomb in Vvardenfell, which is now included with the base game. They spawn quickly enough that players should be able to kill 100 in an evening, albeit not as quickly as going to Western Skyrim or Blackreach.

It's pretty easy to find someone with a Vamp bite, do the 5 minute quest to become a vamp, go out and feed however many times the pursuit is asking, then re-equip your armory build to reset back to no vamp curse.

Then saunter over to Necrom and go into the underweave where there's a veritable mountain of urns to steal from and zero guards whatsover.

Another place to steal with no guards is inside the boat of the Lydia in Glenumbra. This doesn't require dlc and is an easy way to level.

A very low amount of guards is also the apple farm in Belkarth, Craglorn. This is also base game.

Go to Necrom and steal from the urns. There’s about 10,000 of them. Takes about 10 minutes.

Run around a starter zone for treasure chests, pick the locks, get treasure maps to go back and do the other item for treasure chests from maps.

Flashbacks of leveling legerdemain on umpteen characters that way... how do you like them apples?

As time has gone by arguably better places have been released in terms of [potential] reward (like that one house in Galen for instance) but I don't think there is to this day a lower effort place where to level the skill.

Great places to find a lot of vampires are Rivenspire (Moira’s Hope) and The Orchard in Coldharbour.
There are a lot of bloodfiends and vampires in Coldrock Diggins (Delve, Alik’r Desert) and Ondil (Delve, Auridon),
Player vampires do not count in duels. (thanks n0_lollygaggin)
Vampire target dummy doesn’t count (thanks JimmyJJShabadu)
Crestshade (Rivenspire) has bloodfiends occupying the town within sight of the wayshrine,
Vampiric Beasts: Vampiric Bears, Vampiric Kagouti, Vampiric Sabre Cat, Vampiric Senche, Vampiric Wolf (Matygon).

New players have access to chat and can just ask for help. Most people are willing to help with teleports and such and many don't mind carrying someone through the first arc of the archive.
You cannot balance an mmo exclusively around new players and unleveled alt accounts. Leveling in this game is very fast and easy these days and the "new player experience" lasts only a couple of weeks.

P.S. for your alt accounts I would recommend using something like Beam Me Up if you are on PC, or navigator npcs if you are on console. This way you can quickly unlock most of the zones. You might still need help for porting to quest-locked wayshrines (like northern Coldharbour), but people in zone chat are usually willing to help with that.

I think the issue here is that some people don't do illegal stuff in game because they're roleplaying, or just feel squeamish/bad about them. I've seen those complaints during TG/DB events. I understand that somebody may not like those aspects of the game, but then there should be some understanding that they'd miss out on some content.

I won't be bothering with this Golden Pursuit, partly because of the poor range of tasks for my playstyle but compounded by the lack of variation in the rewards. I've no interest in yet another outfit I won't use. The previous pursuits had a better range of both tasks and rewards so far as I'm concerned.

That's purely a personal observation, not a complaint. I don't expect every Golden Pursuit to appeal to me any more than I expect every event to do so. In both cases, where they appeal to me I'll do them, where they don't I won't and that's fine.

Exactly. For example, I do not like the state of pvp and only participate in it to get skills/event tickets. I know that I will miss out on things like elder scrolls furnishings or that fancy throne, but I am not demanding that everyone should get it for free because not everyone likes pvp.
In the end of the day, ESO is an mmo, and it is notoriously difficult to be a completionist in these games. Unless you have a lot of free time and are willing to do everything.

Look, I like roleplaying as much as anyone, but intentionally limiting the number of game activities you choose to interact with means you're going to miss out on content. Surely you knew that going in?

So ZOS should, what, stop offering rewards based on content you choose, for purely aesthetic reasons, to not do?

What about people who roleplay thieves and assassins and vampires? Do they not count? I don't see them complaining about having to go collaborative/altruistic things for endeavors (like completing quests or crafting).

The sheer scope of the number of things you can roleplay as in this game makes it impossible to design an event that they can all complete without making the reward threshold something ridiculous like 12 out of 100.

A small input regarding killing 100 vampires: Imperial City Sewers, Vile Drainage section. Basically, starting on DC side, looking at the map, 3rd or 4th boss on the right is a vampire(he has a long name) and his whole territory is filled with vampires. In less than 10min you get your 100 kills.

This could be considered a spoiler, but really not so if you are brand new and fanatic about spoilers don't read.

I generally don't do a lot of stealing, pickpocketing or murdering civilians, so I created a new character who lost her mind when she was murdered and her soul was stolen. Trauma like that can make rules and polite society feel silly. If you don't feel comfortable being bad, just consider it as a character being temporarily unhinged and who will work back to being good at some point.
