Easy Guide to this Golden Pursuit

I have seen people complaining here and in chat about the difficulty of the present Golden Pursuit. I beg to differ; I got 8/12 tasks done in about two or three hours last night. Here's my guide on how to do this event at any character level.

Quest completions: automatic if you're doing your daily crafting writs as you should be. That's three tasks done.

Login rewards: automatic, just show up each day. That's two more, five total.

Pick 30 locks: Every city has at least a few locked houses that you can pick the door. Anvil and Kvatch in Gold Coast both have whole rows of houses that you can just go from door to door picking locks. Lockboxes and chests you find and pick in the open world count for this as well, and addons like Map Pins will mark chest spawns on the map for you. Remember, you have to actually pick the lock to get credit, not force it. That's six total.

Steal 75 items: Just whatever you find from containers, murdered NPCs or whatever. Easily done in the Fargrave inn, Necrom, or anywhere else with lots of stealable stuff laying about. If you are a vampire, you can pair this with the feeding task. That's seven total.

Kill 100 vampires: Reaper's March, Rivenspire, Western Skyrim, and The Reach all have vampires out and about in the open world. There are also some delves populated by vampires, as well as Spindleclutch II, Moongrave Fane, and Castle Thorn dungeons you can run to kill a bunch in one pass. That's eight total.

Visit ten player homes: Remember the home tour system? Yep. Or you can just hop around to your own or your guildmates' houses; go to the guild roster and visit everyone's primary home. That's nine.

Revive eight players: Can be done over time as you just play the game normally; one bad trial run can clean this up instantly. Alternately, find a partner and duel and revive each other. That's ten.

Dig up 7 treasure maps: Assuming you don't already have a pile of maps in your bank, they're usually cheap on guild vendors, go looking for thief troves or chests in the world to find some, or just ask your guildmates if they have extras. The Map Pins addon will mark them on the map for you so they'll be easy to find. That's eleven.

Ten endeavors while grouped: You don't have to be in the same map, you can just group with someone and you each do your thing. Twelve and done.

Also, remember, you've got like a month to do this. No rush, so anybody who's even doing daily casual play should be able to finish this. Hope this helps somebody.

That looks pretty comprehensive, just s little detail, this pursuit is two weeks to complete, not a month.

On the other hand bonus points from me for suggesting Spindleclutch II; I completely forgot about that one when a guildie asked for a good spot to complete this 'pursuit'. Base game, no chapters or DLC required, instanced, ez and good density. I did it on Castle Thorn but your suggestion is [I think] better.

I got all my vampires from harrowstorms, and for stealing I just raided the merchant tables in Solitude over and over. They respawn fairly quickly.

Those vampiric animals in Western Skyrim and Blackreach count, so that's probably the easiest way to kill 100 vampires for most newbies and lowbies.

I haven't done the vampires yet, but I was planning on doing harrowstorms for them too. I went to one of the places I usually kill a few vampires for endeavors in Rivenspire, and it was super busy with players, so I figured harrowstorms will be easier.

Nice guide @Jimbru. I would also add Northwest Grahtwood for vampires. There is a questline involving killing a vampire lord and a whole bunch of vampire camps in the area.

Difficulty of these Golden Pursuits? What? Where? Is this a trial hard mode?

I already completed them and it's been not even two days yet.

I'm honestly really surprised that anyone can find these tasks difficult.

I was with a level 21 today, and they are having a really hard time. Perhaps you are high level and find it easy, it seems to me, based on zone chat, lower levels are having a harder time. Perhaps they are just impatient.

I'm thinking it's mostly a patience issue. As my guide shows, it's not difficult; it just takes more time to do some of these repetitive tasks than some people are used to. Like people playing Rondo a la Turk too fast, it's a march, not a sprint.

With that logic then nerf everything in the game and make it for levels 21 and under?

A new player has to adapt, It's like if I start playing WoW, New World, Diablo, Path of Exile or whatever other similar game and expect to have everything handed or made easier for me since I just joined the game.

It's never that way in any game.

In any case, lower levels can SUPER QUICK join guilds (game has a very friendly system and tools for that) and then group with guildmates to make things easier, or use zone chat to group with other new or experienced players or, even better, use the Group Finder to even create a particular activity, ie: grouping for Endeavors or Golden Pursuits.

I did one dolmen before crashing, got credit for 7 vampires. But I think it counted bloodfiends as I was looking to see if any actual vamps popped and did not see any.

Revive 8 players is ridiculous. I haven't seen 8 characters down in over a year, and even then when you try and revive them it does not work. Everyone has their own soulstones. It's the one commodity No one should ever need to buy. Your best bet would be dueling with a guildmate.

Houses can also be done by just going to the crown store Housing and check them out as if you might want to buy them.

@barney2525 Bloodfiends count as vamps. As far as reviving 8 players dueling someone and reviving them counts. The odds of coming across any in the field are slim. I would be happy to meet up with you to knock out this pursuit.

Also, Infinite Archive while more tedious doesn't require to be done in one sit. You can spam first 2 stages and first Cycle boss 6 times and you get 2 more tasks done for the Golden Pursuit. So not really that difficult either.

Yeah it's absolutely wild. I finished within a couple hours of the server going up last night. Many of the tasks are barely more than just "stand there and press a button x times and get a shiny". There is no remotely difficult content included except for IA, and those can be skipped. People have gotta have some basic willingness to actually play and learn the game a little bit.

Anyway, OP's guide is very helpful as regards the simplest ways to go about completing some of these.

In Orsinium, there is a house (its part of the main quest, but you can go into it at anytime) that is filled to the brim with stealable stuff and shielded from prying eyes. Loot the main floor, the second floor, then go down to the basement. Eventually, you will go through a broken wall and end up in the inn and you can keep going until you climb the doors. Then, as long as you avoid the NPC sweeping, you can loot the two rooms. Its easy to get 100+ things to steal.

Alternatively, Bleakrock has no guards or NPCs who can see you steal stuff if you left it to Covenant Raiders.

As I had amassed a small 6k bounty from indiscriminately feeding on NPC's in towns, I wasn't being careful about stealing...also, stealing from dead NPC's counts.

I’m sorry, but this didn’t really help at all lol.

This months golden pursuits assume you have vampire characters, and also assumes you participate in theft/criminal actions.

I think I do have one character that I completed the DB storyline on so I can use him to complete some of these, but even with that I don’t do group content and even the reviving players one I’ll probably have to spam chat to find people to get it done.

It’s just a very restrictive month especially compared to last month.

Only one of the pursuits needs a vampire to feed. You only need 12 of the pursuits to complete the reward. I did the kill 100 vampires in Cold Harbor. Took about 20 minutes.

It's more like: lower level / newer accounts may not have the ability to go to Coldharbor or Skyrim or other maps to kill all the vampires, for example. Or the Infinite Archives. Same for using treasure maps. On both my baby accounts, over the entirety of the last event I got many, many treasure maps --- and only one I could actually use.

In the mentioned instances, unless they find someone to port them, the lacks remove four of the 15 possibilities immediately.

But I'm glad you completed your Pursuits.

The Meridia temple in Skyrim has lots of bloodfiends inside and they respawn quickly. Probably would be a good location for low levels that have ESO Plus or the chapter.
