Downloaded ESO Again Should I Sub?

I recently returned to Tamriel. I been playing since 2014 off and on. I figured it is a new year, perhaps I should give the game a chance. If nothing else finally try scribing. I am not sure about committing to a sub however. What does the forum think?

Just 2 of the multiple perks make it worth the sub:

The Craft Mats bag and receiving 1650 credits for the same $15 you would have to pay for 1500. Very few games give you their Store Currency when you pay for the sub. The access to other stuff like DLCs is just extra bonus IMHO.

Agree with the sub for a month and try it out. Make sure you cancel the sub so it won't auto-renew... when you cancel, your sub still remains active for the remaining time.

Also a sub will not currently grant you access to scribing, as that is part of the current newest chapter, which is not included in the sub and has to be purchased separately. The sub will include access to all the older chapters and DLC but not the most recent one.

Given the state of the game right now, with regular server problems and a complete lack of information about the content we should expect this year, I would not suggest a long term sub.

I used to be an avid crafter, but most of the gear isn't worth it. My mates jump shipped in 2018 so I have a full guild bank to myself (and max personal slots). Currently sitting at 12k Crowns. Most items went to the gem store. I'll get the occasional 25 loot box (with the polymorph).

Now if the sorcerer red twilight could be purchased I would buy that in a heart beat.

If you need to ask the forums, I would say the answer is no.

If anything, I would suggest playing without it and see if you are motivated to sub after playing. I did that when I returned from a break of years and ultimately decided to sub.

but then I'm a person with a lot of agency....

No. Just play and sun for one month when a new dlc drops and spend crowns after to buy dlc…. Rinse and repeat and save your mats to craft bag. I call it good budgeting … you don’t eso plus 12 months per year, just need it 3 times per year….

If they lowered the price I’d consider leaving it in place, but you don’t get enough back to warrant 12 months in my opinion… unless you’re wealthy as hell …

We don’t know you like you do. I’d say play it for a bit before committing, but if you have plenty of extra money to spare you could go the other way around.

If I was you I wouldn't subscribe yet. Wait until you're actually confident you're going to stick around for a bit first (and to see how you get on without a subscription), then subscribe for a month and see how much difference it makes.

That way you don't waste money if it's a random impulse and you lose interest again after a week or so and when you do subscribe you'll have a better idea of what you're getting for your money. I've run into a few people who wasted money because they were keeping their subscription active for things which aren't part of it, like the daily login rewards, endeavours or double bag space (not bank, which is included, they thought they'd lose 1/2 their inventory space without it).

If after a month you think you're going to stick around and you want to keep subscribing you can always buy a longer subscription.

There's also ESO+ free trials every so often, where you can get almost all the benefits (except the crowns and crownstore discounts) for a week or so, but I'm not sure when the next one will be.

See I would say to try with out it and see how it goes but I have done that myself and I don't make it very long without resubbing

Yes but disable the autorenew. If you feel like it's worth it then turn it back on.

Honestly, I would try it for a week or thereabouts first to see if you can tolerate the latency/ping spikes that game is plagued with without wanting to pull your hair out at times.
If you can be anything, be kind.

This game is not worth it, the devs don't care about simple bugs.

If you main a Nightblade I don't even suggest you come back. :'(

Difficult to know whether you’ll be playing often enough to justify a sub. I resisted for a few years but eventually decided that it was a good deal for me, because I play several hours every day and needed the craft bag. The access to all of the DLCs wasn’t a factor for me, because I’d already purchased all of them with Crowns, and I continue to buy the new DLCs with Crowns despite having an active subscription.

It is a personal choice whether to play the game or not, and the same goes for subscriptions. No one can answer the question for you. None of us know your interests or how you like to play the game.

Those who love the game love it for their own reasons. Those who think the game is not worth it came to that decision for their own reasons, though one has to wonder why they are still here if that is hwo they truly feel.

I would suggest taking the time to find a decent active social guild that lines up with what you like to do. Much of the game is fun playing with others, and it is a notably better experience to run with somewhat known people instead of random pugs.

    Good luck.
