I don't like daily rewards, too many items for newbees

I understand the need to help those who are just starting to play ESO, however this should not happen at the expense of veterans. I think that a choice between two items should be introduced, regarding daily rewards. This way everyone could choose the one that best suits them.

Crown repair kits, AP, tel var, and tripots are useful for everyone. The trees are an odd choice this month though, they're buyable from a base-game merchant for less than 100k.

I'm not getting why this hurts Veterans... While supporting both new and veteran players is important, introducing a choice in daily rewards adds unnecessary complexity. These rewards are a bonus, not an entitlement, and adjusting them to appease veterans who feel slighted by others receiving items needlessly fuels division. It perpetuates this 'Us Vs Them" mentality and places casuals and New players in this Othered catagory...this needs to be broadly denounced by the devs...Veterans are not superior they are not above new and casual players....They have just been here longer and that and five dollars will buy you a small coffee at Starbucks.

Veterans already have significant advantages through experience and accumulated resources, so restricting rewards for new players serves no real purpose.

I agree with the comments above. Though I admit some of the daily rewards favor newer players (research or riding scrolls for example), that is fine. Veteran players have a significant advantage when it comes to the endeavor system. Kill a WB? No problem and I don't even need any help. Kill an Iron Atronach? I know exactly where to find one and having discovered every wayshrine in the game, this becomes quick and easy. Just a couple of examples.

I have also learned to work with the common daily log in rewards. My usage of potions, poisons and soul gems is low enough that the only ones I use are from the daily login rewards.

Yeah, this month is particularly disappointing. Many players could miss the last 15 items and not care. 10 refreshing drinks? 6 Fortifying Meals? There are literally only 6 or 7 "useful" items this month. Should be things everyone can use. Like Tri Stat Potions ... put them in 4 or 5 times if you most. Seriously, how many of us are still training riding or crafting? If you MUST include these newbie items, give players a choice. Make tri potions an option every single day.

This month isn't worth logging in every day.

I delete the daily rewards that I do not want. Even with ESO+, I cannot store all the stuff that I get from the game. If ZOS wants to make a change, please consider making the daily login items worth 1 gold each. Playing on console, selling stuff is quicker than deleting stuff (less button presses).

I tank, so I'll take all of the tripots I can get. Honestly, I think we haven't had enough in the last few months - we used to get a couple hundred, but now it seems like there's only one day of 200 in a single month, and that's not always there.
(And then we had that one day where the reward was One. Single. Tripot)

Having said that, I've been dumping all of the riding lessons and research scrolls in my bank. I'm praying that there's another Class on the horizon at some point, so I'm ready to feed all that to the new character once I finally get a chance to make him. Especially considering the revamping of the tutorial and starter zones, it'd be a really good idea for ZOS to give all of us vets a reason to go back and see it all...

Plenty of veteran players complain constantly about the time taken to train mounts on their alts. It wouldn't surprise me if they also complained about being given free mount training as rewards  !

Going on five years playing ESO (I guess that's "veteran") and I'm not seeing a major problem here. First, it's free stuff, so whether it's something I want doesn't much matter since it cost me nothing and I haven't been at all reluctant to use "destroy" on stuff I have no use for (looking at you, Crown Poisons). Except for the Day 7, 14, and 21 rewards, most of the rest in most months aren't horribly useful for established characters until you get to the end of the month with the AP and Tel Var and maybe a few upgrade mats, but some established players like the tri-pots. I'll admit that I have no idea what I'm going to do with 10 Sweetrolls, but that's what the Coldharbour Surreal Storage Area is for and there's still a "destroy" option if nothing comes to mind.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

Daily rewards aren't intended for give good items its just another mechanism (same as event tickets and event boxes, daily endeavors, golden pursuits) introduced for force you to login every day and focus your efforts into grinding so that soon or later you will be induced to buy eso+ for not having the pain to renounce at all the loot or having to deal with managing inventory slots all the time since most of the looted items are always cheap crafting materials rather then "good items".

A veteran player should know it is a waste but the loot/reward mechanism (always more implemented with the growth of the number of events per year) that can give some "good or unique rewards" at the end works also on veteran players despite knowing the game (as was intended to be played) becouse it faces you everday into this scheme.

Nowadays mmo's aren't made with the old philosophy of "enjoy by getting good learning the game" but it became "enjoy by getting good following baits and masses" sadly the market has changed and this is another reason why there won't be anymore chapters too much investment to catch players that are "smart" when they can have other audience with more trash game style that is more willing to pay eso+ for a craft bag or for a new mount etc...

I'm really liking the seemingly regular inclusion of furnishings in the daily rewards now. It's nice to see housing put into the mix rather than an endless diet of crown experience scrolls and gear upgrading materials. And as someone else has said, 100k isn't pocket change for rather more players than you might realise.

True, but there's also crown store only trees that are quite nice that we could've gotten instead. Works as advertisement because if people want more they have to use crowns while also benefits all of us. I enjoyed the winter furnishings because I haven't been able to get any before since I refuse to buy crown store furnishings. Don't get me wrong though, I do like the trees, they're quite nice, it's just odd because they're relatively easily accessible (housing in general is expensive anyways >_<).

What's wrong with favoring new players, who are probably the ones who benefit the most from these daily rewards anyway? It's not like veterans can't use the free goodies: I have little patience for remembering to train mounts on alts and the riding lessons got my below-50 arcanist to 60/60/60 in almost no time.

I have more Crown Tripots and Foods than I will ever use. I just destroy the excess. No big deal. However, we were promised that Crown Tripots and Food would never be equal to or better than Crafted. For it while it was about 10% down. Then it went to be on Par.

    This.
We had some nice things in daily rewards for some time, thanks to the anniversary. Now the dailies are “back to normal”-ish, and to prevent us to be disappointed they created the golden pursuits and moved those nice things to it. At least that’s how I see it and I think it’s a smart move: we still have access to those things but we have to play to get them now.

I feel there's too many mount training and research scrolls in the daily rewards. I have them all stashed in a chest "just in case" we ever get another character slot, but all my 20 characters have full mount training and with 3 master crafters the rest don't need to research anything fast enough that I'd consider using a scroll.
XP scrolls can come in handy if you need to level a new skill or switch morph so I do use them now and again. More tripots is what we need!

To be honest, it'd be nice if you could turn the login items into gems like with crate items.

That way if you don't particularly want/need the item you can get a gem instead and save up for maybe something from the crate store.

It irks me in ANY game where veteran players look down on new players, forgetting that they were once new players. We had to scrape and grind and struggle at one point, and I always keep that in mind and try to help out new players when I can. I'm just paying it forward from when an older player helped me.

I agree with the other commenters who suggest that it would be handy if the pots/poisons/etc could be sold or exchanged. Even for a minimal amount.

OP, What is it that you, a veteran player, even need from Daily rewards?

My proposal was to leave an option, so that everyone could be happy.
I could never go against new players, I was one too and now I often offer to help new players in various ways.
But this does not mean that ZOS should give useful things only to new players.
Everyone should have the right to receive useful things.
That's why I propose, and continue to propose, a choice, an option, between two objects, one more suitable for new players, one always useful. Example? A riding skill upgrade can be optioned with a Dreugh Wax, a Crown Refreshing Drink can be optioned with a Crown Mimic Stone (always useful). This way no one would be harmed.
