In early September 2024, ZoS announced an official housing competition that would loosely coincide with the release of Home Tours feature. A short while later, I recall hearing through official channels that it was canceled so that it could be 'done properly', or something along those lines.

I was wondering whether it's ever actually going to happen, or whether we're meant to forget about it. :)

They need to lower the decorating ceiling so I can compete.

Decorating a house is too much work! By the time I'm done, my eyes are frozen from tearless friction and my arm feels like it's going to fall off. 700 items?!! Who has time for that?

I recommend becoming a heavy-attack decorator. Lower CPM requirements and can still output respectable houses! :D

We still plan on having the contest. It got postposed as we are working on making sure more countries could be involved.

Don't try to complete a house in one sitting. I do a little at a time and it usually takes me a few weeks or more to complete. I also rarely use all the available slots and stop when it looks finished to me.

Well, for one, like with other games, some people will have an advantage over others because of some mechanic giving it to them, making competitions unfair.

In the case of ESO, it's ESO+, which allows double the amount of furniture etc that can be placed. The result being ESO+ houses are always going to look more lived in rather than relatively sparse.
