I answered this in the general forum. But what was going on before I had the other trophy fish was a blank catch, no loot, just the catching sound effect. Caught every filletable fish, no trophy fish, inventory had at least 90 spots available so no. Even if it was I would have an obvious error that I would know. The line didn't snap, the line caught something, and that something was nothing. It was weird and I still do not know the cause. I did catch the fish but I had to make the foul spots my last spot to farm in the zone for some reason.
