    Likes:
    - it's something different; the fishing itself is kinda fun
    - it's always kinda fun to catch a gunnysack

    dislikes:
    - it really has a very low return of anything useful (only the gunnysacks really)
    - the rare fish don't show up in your inventory; you catch something that potentially has monetary value and the takeaway from it is actually less then catching a 3 gold normal fish
    - you can't do anything BUT fishing; no chatting, no inventory checking, just fishing

what needs to be done to improve it?
    - add provisioning recipes requiring fish
    - add alchemical properties to certain fish
    - possibly make some fish into edible boost providing items on their own
    - at the very least put caught fish in the inventory

pretty sure it needs more but that's of the top of my head

    Two improvements for me
    1. Move the enemies away, several times I've killed off the monsters, gone to cast, only to be attacked by a respawning monster, seriously move them.
    2. Change the view when we cast, it's not quite right for fishing, i have to zoom right in to see the bob properly, should change to first person view.

Thanks for the feedback. Adding it to the list.

I doubt checking inventory while fishing will ever be added because of how the inventory works and it interrupts anything in game and sets your character to rummaging through a bag.

    All of this, plus:
    • Crafted bait. Let your provisioner whip up some bait with those unwanted plump worms, goat bits or maggots. Crafted bait should have vendor value and give a small boost to the chance of getting a rare fish or gunnysack.
    • Eliminate the inventory penalty for holding bait...so many destroy bait and skip fishing just because of bag space issues. If bait were free to carry, more might be enticed to give fishing a try. Not a crafting idea so much, but one that would increase the appeal of fishing.
