Which zones are "more worth" completing for fishing?

First:
1. Thanks ZOS for curating rare fishing drops during this Pan Tamriel event!
2. Congratulations to all the players that have fished all the zones!

I do not enjoy fishing in ESO. When I saw this event coming up, I thought that I would pursue getting the fishing done in all the zones. I have played ESO for years and had not completed any zones for fishing. So I went to Artaeum and fished until I unlocked the fishing food recipe. Set my green champion points for fishing. Made sure Sharp was completely unlocked for the fishing bonus.

When the event started, I started fishing in AD zones. Got the fishing style page drop while fishing in the third AD zone. Finished AD zones, got the dye, finished EP zones, got the dye, and now part way through DC zones.

I'm not sure that I will make it through all the zones in the game before I completely lose interest in fishing. Question for players who have done everything in fishing. Which zones are "more worth" completing for fishing? I'm trying to earn Master Angler/Master Fisher, but what else do you think is worth pursuing?

    - Summerset fishing can give you the Pyandonean motif.
    and certain furnishings.
    - Artaeum fishing can give the Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl recipe, useful for faster fishing.
    - Clockwork City fishing can give leads for the Mnemonic Star-Sphere.
    - Murkmire fishing can give the Fish, Black Marsh.

actually just look at this page on UESP
    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Fishing
    it has everything relevant.

Zones with less diversified fishing nodes (like coldharbour) and pvp zones like Cyro and IC.
And probably hew's bane, they have an issue with foul or was it river nodes where there are like 4-5 for the entire map so getting angler there is omega rng with no curation.
Rest especially the ones with 4 fishing types are similarly difficult.
I've done master angler few years back some vanilla zones took me 30-40m some took me 4-5 hours.

Master Angler is the pinnacle of fishing to be honest. The DLC zones do not add to that prestige.

I would say finish up the DC zones, then do Cyrodiil and Imperial City for the Master Angler achievement. After that do any DLC zone that has leads behind fishing if doing antiquities is your thing at any rate.

What I am doing, in order

All base game fishing zones, for Master Angler (you can buy a boat from Global achievement vendor)

    Clockwork city-- all foul fish
    Deadlands-- all foul fish
Cyrodiil-- dangerous and difficult, want to minimize time there
IC-- Dangerous and difficult, PLUS all foul fish
    Northern Elswyr-- All river fish
Summerset--- Foul nodes few and far between

Then I am going to see if any DLC zones have fun rewards for fishing. I believe Necrom has a style that unlocks, and possibly the Angler achievement is part of the overall achievement that gives the mount, so I am heading there next, and I will look through the other DLCs to see if there is anything else fun.

I don't really care about the achievements per se, only if they give me something else.

    So:
    - base game zones for the dyes and Master Angler
    - among those, especially Coldharbour because all foul
    - Craglorn for the dye
    - Necrom because it's part of the Savior achievement which gives you the mount
    - Gold Road for the same reason

That's it, and I seriously doubt I'll even get to Master Angler.

For Cyrodiil, I recommend a low-level character in the sub50 campaign. On a Pact character, I stood for 15 minutes or so right in front of the Gate of Mnem in broad daylight and never saw even one other player.

one of Necrom achievements to get the free Berylglow Nix-Ox Steed mount is Necrom Master Angler.
the Deadlands Master Angler allows to purchase a Sulfur Pool achievement furnishing

The master fisher achievement unlocks a dye and a Fishing Vessel furnishing from the achievement vendor. As well, every alliance achievement and non-alliance-zone achievements tied to it also reward dyes.

I didn't know about the sulfur pools, and while I vaguely knew there was a mount for Necrom I didn't know the details, thank you!

ETA: Was your typo "suffer" instead of "sulfur"? Because my autocorrect is sure I mean suffer.

Craglorn is still listed in the achievement group, but my last two (late last year) popped without doing it, including with the dye and the ability to buy the boat.

    Thanks everyone!

I will finish the zones listed for the Master Fisher achievement online. And then I will look through https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Fishing and see if there is anything else I want. May do Craglorn for the dye.

It looks like the DLC zones like Necrom would require me to farm antiquities to get the additional benefits, and I don't go out of my way to farm an antiquity unless I need to wear it for a PvE build, so I don't have any of the DLC zones completed for antiquities.

Apocrypha - like Summerset Pyandonean Bottles you can "catch" Abyss Drenched Folio's they can have furnishing plans in them.

Not 100% sure if I'm remembering correctly but I think it's one(maybe two) gold plans and two purples. 🙂

do the ones with fewer types of fishing spots first - like Coldharbour or IC - the ones with 3 schools are easier to finish than the ones with only 1 or 2.

The probabaility of getting the right fish is higher if the pool is smaller once curated fish are over.

eg Colharbour has 12 foul fish - Eastmarch has 3

Deadland is a bit annoying with few holes.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Deadlands is only foul water though, so that makes it a bit easier and on the account I'm on currently, with the help of an addon I have 21 different holes marked.

All of these holes are on the eastern side of the map, none on the west that I have found yet. :)

Craglorn is the only PVE zone in base game that is not required for the master angler. It does come with its own dye though so its still worth doing.

Jup... I am still missing two fishes from those. The stupid thing is. At the moment the spawns of those holes is 1000% bugged. They do NOT spawn at all. I was looking for a spawn at all 12 known locations for the last 4 days, I did wait at least 10min per location, but NO DA** FU***** spawn what so ever :| !!!

    @ZOS_Kevin @ZOS_GinaBruno
Perhaps you could tell the Dev team to - please - fix those *Foul Water Holes* in Summerset. I already opened a ticket for it, but I am not sure it will be fixed :( .

I remember logging out every day at Alinor docks with the hope one would appear when I logged back in. That grind was horrible.

But, as a tip the public dungeon at the top of the map (sorry I can’t remember the name) has TWO foul holes that both spawn at the usual rate. I got most of my foul fish from there. Hope that helps

Definitely the monotype zones. Especially pvp zones and coldharbour. Make sure to target them first!
