I can't think of why I would ever need to store that many.

I'll do you two better. Remove the crystals entirely. Just make it so once you reach the requirements that allow you to transmute or reconstruct you can simply do so without needing to acquire anything else. It's nice that ZoS has made the crystals so easy to come by now, no complaints, but since they practically fall off of trees now why not eliminate them entirely.

Ya, zos won't do either one. The limit will stay and the currency will stay.

I already have a forum thread posted about this and taking the limit off transmute stones.

Then once you hit the new limit, you will ask for another increase, eventually making it a neverending cycle. I just transmute (not reconstruct) any weapons and armor into Nirnhoned and then deconstruct it for a chance of getting Nirncrux.

I don't see the point in the limit.

The point in the limit is to keep people doing content.

It's just like event tickets - if they were unlimited, then players could be like "I have enough X, so I can sit out from this event/part of the game/etc." While that may seem player-friendly to do so, that goes completely counter to the idea of a healthy MMO is one in which players are inspired to continue logging in... and the "this game is dying" complaints would increase tenfold if players logging in for the PvP event still didn't even see Cyrodiil get up to two bars in the middle of the event.

Between 2000 to 5000 seems like a fair limit to me.

But the limit on Transmute Crystals isn't 1,000; it's 120,500.

You can reconstruct fully-collected set pieces at 25 Crystals per piece. When deconstructed, those set pieces give back 25 Crystals. Each set piece takes up one inventory slot. With a maximum of 20 characters, each at the maximum possible 215 inventory space, plus the 480 bank space and the additional 1,000 Crystal currency limit, that gives you a total of ( 20 x 215 + 480 ) x 25 + 1000 = 120500 Transmute Crystals you can store.

Scrap the cap while subscribed, when un subscribed do something like SWTOR does with it's credit escrow, where if you earn more above the free to play cap the overflow amount gets banked in the escrow until you subscribe again.

2000 would help but that wouldn't fix my problem.

I currently have one of my main PVP characters holding 900+ trans gems on him in boxes of 25 gems each, and I'm capped. I currently have to log in on a different character to claim my rewards of the worthy on a different character just to avoid stacking the gems on one character.

I love build theorycrafting, but the trans gems are becoming a problem because I can't consume them fast enough, can't sell them, and don't want to destroy them.

The gems are already in our currency counter tab, why don't we just uncap these alltogether so that they're there when people WANT to use them? Or make them tradeable.

They should increase the limit to 5,000 for non subs and 10,000 for subs. Or remove the cap all together.

They won't though. Transmutation crystal overflow is another trick to restrict available inventory space.

Doubling limits for ESO+ subscribers will still encourage + subscription though.

Additionally, increasing the limits will encourage players to continue to engage in content which awards crystals.

It would be nice. I have so many reconstructed helmets because I keep running random vet but I don't have the room... too lazy to make new builds but too stressed about needing transmute to turn them into nirncrux.

Remove the limit on ANY currency, especially Event Tickets. Makes absolutely no sense to impose an artificial cap.

Why you want 2000 limit if you can't even spend the 1000 you already have stored?

If you farm all the pieces of a set, reconstructing a piece is only 25 crystals, so 125 total to reconstruct a FULL set.

    1000 crystals is enough.

It's not about me. Why would you think it's capped? You think ZOS forgot to increase or remove the limit? There are reasons obviously.

If you run multiple classes with multiple builds...

1 - You do what HatchetHaro explains above.

2 - You destroy the old sets and use the returned crystals to reconstruct the new ones.

What about the 50 transmute geodes? You would take a geode that occupies 1 slot and make it take up 2 slots by that method.

Increasing the cap seems like you are getting to many and are not using them so increasing the cap would solve your problem for awhile.

Most reasonable would be you earn less crystals in game but that would suck for those who use them more often.

1 thing Zos could do is adding a material to craftbag that you refine into Crystals but you still have the cap.

So, we still have to read a reason of why we shouldn’t remove the cap of 1000.

The point in the limit is to keep people doing content.

So that's exactly the problem: people do content no matter what, and fill their inventories with geodes.
therefore, the limit is not needed. It adds nothing but inventory management issues.
