This took a little bit of practice but I find now that I am able to pick almost every lock that I come into contact with unless I run out of time. And breaking lockpicks has declined so much that I ended up with nearly 2 full stacks of 100 each stack in my bags and had to start destroying one of the stacks just to keep space for looting.
No autopilot skill. It is a twitch game. It does get easier over time. The cylinders only have like 4 or 5 positions each, and eventually you'll be able to "see" them instinctively. Keep trying. (If you are hard of hearing, turn the souund way up...but the visual cues are enough for me. I can do it with the sound off just as well)Windshadow_ESO wrote: »this is expensive in picks and the time required means that I have no chance at any but the Easy locks with their longer time for picking is there a skill that helps with forcing chances?
If it matters I play the mac client.
Nooooo...you definitely cannot "force" a lock. Even in real life you can't do that. The tumblers have to be teased into a specific position.Windshadow_ESO wrote: »Thanks SS on the skill question I was wondering if there was anything that improved the chances of forcing a lock...

Some people suggested holding down the LMB to use the pick and when you think it is time to release hitting the RMB instead. They had a better reaction time clicking the RMB then just releasing the LMB and went through less lockpicks. Might want to give that a try and see if it works for you.
