Depends on the thread

Usually to get more information about the game / share information on my end.

Sometimes, in all blunt honestly, I use the forums to grumble and complain. "I've killed 3,000 mudcrabs and have never gotten the monster trophy? Is it still even in the loot tables?" "Why did you tie leads to doing a raid? I can never find a group in group finder and this game doesn't have a raid-finder system like World of Warcraft. How am I ever going to get this done?" "Why can't we toggle hip-plates? I want to put Ivory Brigade armor on my gal, but the hip plates float to the side and drive me crazy." "I have never gotten a single page of Ancestral Akaviri. This is a hopeless motif."

I do a bit too much grumbling from time to time. :-P

Edit addition: every now and then I'll fancy posting about a visual glitch / bug on the appropriate part of the forum, but most of them are minor and (truth be told) get resolved pretty fast. The low-rez, 2D neuron trees still pop up in Apocrypha for some reason, but not nearly as often as they used to and I think the devs are locking that down... so I tend to not even bother anymore on this front.

Overall, the trend would be that many people visit the forums to provide feedback (I.e. Complain)

Some people will visit the forums to obtain information (Either redirected by googling and being offered a thread in the forum that covered the question, or by making a thread asking a question)

A (vocal) minority will come to a forum to provide suggestions.

Personally... I just wander around looking at random threads and occasionally opine on a topic that seems interesting (Or that I believe I have relevant knowledge about)

People really should stop posting here Reddit is much better and less BS.

if i can answer questions i do that.
if there's news about something i tend to give my opinion.

sometimes i make posts, usually about furniture i think.
and i like to share outfits in the Fashion megathread sometimes

As far as I'm aware at this point in time, that can't be an option with polls on Vanilla forums.

I do learn tips and things that I find helpful.

The most valuable aspect of the forum for me is if I run into a bug/glitch in the game, I come straight here to usually learn the problem is not on my end. Then I can do my troubleshooting (drink a cup of coffee) while the kind ZoS folks fix the problem.

It's also one of my daily values of Social Interaction.

I'm kind of a feedback/share information on the game since that is what I think the forums are mostly about. I try to explain things if I have an answer to them or if there is a topic about a subject I'm interested in like a story mode for dungeons or other similar possibilities I try to give my opinion as to how I would hope to see something like that implemented.

For me, a forum is mainly for giving suggestions and feedback; that way the game can be improved for everyone.

A forum is also a medium for intelligent discussions about the game with like-minded individuals.

Its fun to see what the average person who plays this game has to say

For me it's the main method of how I find out about upcoming events, game changes and such.

Given what I've seen lately, I'd say complaining.
