Tanlorin pronouns in skills, ranged build and arcane nova problem

The skill Igneus armor says:
Tanlorin releases their inner Dragon to gain Major Resolve for themselves and their grouped allies, increasing their Physical and Spell Resistance by 90 for 6 seconds.
They gain a damage shield that absorbs up to 5948 damage for 6 seconds, scaling off their Max Health.
I had to level Tanlorin to level 14 before i could see that the shield applied only to Tanlorin. I don't care if Tanolrin is non binary or a martian and I don't care about grammar rules but can u be more specific in the skill description? My english is not top notch so "they gain a shield" sounded as like "all the grouped allies would get a shield".
Thanks

Another thing, can somebody advice me for a ranged companion build with the bow that works? Doesn't matter if it's mirri,
bastian, azandar or sharp. I can't find a ranged companion that works with bow, they are inefficient for me, they are way farther than needed, they take time to get in position and they often get stuck in the process so the actual dps is bad. I often have finished the mob pool when they arrive and the build I find online are more god in theory that in practice: it seems to me that they are build created with the dummy test dps and those builds don't take into account the real time run, attack, run process that u have to do in doungeons and in other instances like going around the map. Am I missing something?

Sorry, I can't find the edit button... I wanted to share antoher thing:
In the companion weapon skill line for the destruction staff the last skill In useless or again am I missing someghing?
"Arcane Nova
Your Companion releases a surge of magic to enemies around them, dealing 3150 Magic Damage."
Now this skill being the last one should be "strong" but it's actually unusable in a real situation. The staff is a long range attack so the companion stay way back (suffering from the problem a previously explained) so he never or almost never is so close that the skill can hit something no matter the build u use. having the staff the companion will stay away so how do u use that skill? shouldn't they changed it.

I finally founded the edit button.

The wording is fine. It also has nothing to do with their gender identity.

ESO explicity states "And allies" whenever something will function on allies. For example with other Companion skills:

Bastian's Basalt Barrier: Bastian Hallix calls the earth to their defense, granting a damage shield for them and their nearby allies that absorbs 1575/3000 damage for 6 seconds.

Ember's Shared Wards: Ember conjures wards made of energy for protection, granting a damage shield for them and their nearby allies that absorbs 1575/3000 damage for 6 seconds.

I suppose it's possible for the wording to be altered so that it instead states "Tanlorin gains a damage shield", which would still be consistent with other companion skills (Which either use their name or "They/Their")

For the most part, ranged builds will be kind of jank because of the AI liking to only stay at max range (And never moving so if they don't have line of sight, they sit there trying to attack but failing constantly)

    As for Bow builds;

    - Mirri can be workable for general purpose bow usage, with Warp Strike as her first ability she'll teleport onto an enemy then quickly backroll into position for using a bow. This helps to offset some of the jank AI and keep her in a position to attack.

    - For max DPS bow builds for things like WB's then Sharp is best because he has a full complement of range skills to use while at max range and he has Snow Squall that can keep him alive even through a bunch of random WB damage.

    - Zerith is somewhat decent as a bow DPS, since he again has a bunch of ranged skills to use alongside a bow. Though his ult requires him to be a bit closer and there's the issue of corpse requirement for Strands of the Lattice. So he's a substitute for Sharp if you're using Sharp for another role.

It's designed for when they are taking aggro of enemies. Noteworthy would be Ice Staff Tank builds. But it can be useful in other situations like when someone such as Ember or Zerith pull aggro with their AoE abilities.

It's not ideal, but it has uses. It likely would be much better if it was a targeted AoE (Like the Elemental Ring morph that players get access to)

Thank you, I didn't consider the ice staff but doesn't that only give the chilled status effect? And sorry to bother again but I'm trying to figure out the difference between damage reduction between light medium and hevay armor, does it work like player? am I right to consider for seven purple item something like : light 6300 armor reduction 9,5% / medium armor 13300 reduction 20% / heavy armor 20300 reduction 30,6%?

All of the companions' skill descriptions use "they" regardless of the companion's gender. I'm guessing ZOS wanted to keep things gender-neutral in case the same skill/tooltip is used for multiple companions.

For that ability, yes. But keep in mind the Chilled status also brings Minor Maim and when applied with an Ice Staff equipped, also applies Minor Brittle.

As far as I'm aware, that is the case. I've not seen any indications that armour values function differently for Companions.
