something wrong with passive xp boost. not stacking with xp pots/scrolls???

I just used a 150% xp scroll with the passive 100% xp boost on a level 28 almost 29 and did a random daily dungeon for the xp gain. It barely put me over level 30. Then I immediately did the daily battlegroud with all both xp buffs active and that barely pushed me to high level 31. We did win the bg so the xp gain should have been massive. Something isn't right with this. This is the normal xp gain I get at this low level with just the normal 150% pot/scroll active.

✭✭✭✭Maybe this is my issue. I did some dungeons and I swear the xp was the same. Like I said in another post, I usually get a level per dungeon. I did my daily dungeon and it was the same. I would have expected more. I was using an xp scroll, 50%.

✭✭✭✭So I tested individual mob drops and found the xp did increase as expected. Only thing I need to test is big xp rewards like you get when you complete a dungeon daily.0 -

I also use Heartland Conqueror weapons (5 pieces: boosts weapon traits by 100%) with Training (Legendary quality 2H sword for example is boosted from 9% to 18%).PC-EU @maitsukas

Eliahnus✭✭✭✭The event XP boost and scroll XP boost seam to work, but it appears that for some characters the calculation of the companion kill XP only takes into account base XP and armor training traits. I submitted a bug for this.0

AFAIK training gear only impacts the XP granted to your skills and abilities you've equipped currently. Similar to how inspiration just adds more XP to the profession at hand but not the XP that your character receives for leveling up.
I'm not sure about the wording of those scrolls but it might attribute bonus XP to mob kills only and not necessarily the XP you gain by (auto) turning in quests or the like.0 -

Training gear and scrolls both Grant XP towards overall XP. The difference between them is that Training gear only grants XP from kills, whereas scrolls Grant XP from all sources (kills/quests/discovery).

But +100% xp from events has always stacked with scrolls or xp potion for all sources.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.1 -

✭✭✭✭Sorry I meant one Cycle but numerous rounds lol. And yeah I have full Training gear, Heartland Conqueror, most pieces Blue. Used 50% Bound exp scroll and went in with a friend. Barely got that one level even with numerous boosts. So I'm not sure what's going on, it felt like standard exp all around with no boosts at all tbh. +1 xp from event
+1.5 xp from 150% scroll
for a total of 3 xp as the system throws out everything behind the decimal point.
you would have to know the normal value of the xp gain to figure it out. The figures on the randoms are updated amounts including any xp buffs running.(Math before coffee, except after 3, is not for me)1 -

To be clear, the event and scrolls/pots are not affected by training gear and Mora’s. Those are just additional ways to level in combat.
If you’re already getting 100% from base xp + 150% from a scroll/pot + (let’s say as an example) 75% from training/Mora’s, the 100% additive event bonus brings that from 325% to 425% for xp from kills. So it would add just about 30% relatively, and less if we throw in the 10% group bonus to xp from kills for being grouped with one other person.
For non-combat sources the event does better relatively speaking: 100% base + 150% scroll/pot + 100% event = 350% instead of 250%, for a relative increase of 40%Edited by virtus753 on December 23, 2024 2:42PM0
