What I’ve Learned About “Seasons”

Reading all the posts here and looking at other games made by this company (FO76), I think I have a good sense why we are seeing “seasons” being introduced.

Looks like you’ll need ESO+ to get *all* the seasonal rewards, similar to how it works in Fallout (from what I’ve read).

It feels like a way to push more people into subscribing, especially as new content starts slowing down.

I don’t think people will be using ESO+ as much for access to areas or dungeons anymore. Instead, it’ll mostly be about getting access to all the drops from a “season.”

Yeah, they’ll keep adding new content you can access from ESO+, but it probably won’t be exciting enough to bring in (or bring back) a lot of players to sub (or re-sub). Instead, the time-gated seasonal rewards and ongoing inventory management issues will keep driving subscriptions.

Fallout 76 isn't made by ZOS, it's made by Bethesda. We won't know what they mean by seasons until they tell us. Everything right now is just speculation; we can't make judgements off of speculation.

Not making judgement, just doing lots of research and reading after seeing the introduction of “seasons” in the annual missive.

This seems to be the most likely outcome to me based on the little they have teased, the introduction of “Golden Pursuits” and similar strategies of games made by the same company.

It isn’t good or bad, but it’s my expectations after doing my research. Excited to see how close I am. :)

    Greetings,

We are closing this thread as there is a more active thread in regards to seasons, which can be found here.
