Dear ZOS Team and Fellow Players,
I’m writing to address the ongoing and frustrating issues with the Overload ultimate. While Overload has always been a unique and versatile ability, its current state is riddled with bugs that make it unreliable and unenjoyable to use. Here are the main problems I’ve encountered:
Skill Bar Swapping Issues:
When Overload is active, swapping between bars often breaks. This leaves players unable to access the abilities on their secondary bar until Overload is toggled off. It completely disrupts the flow of combat, especially in high-pressure situations like Battlegrounds.
Ultimate Activation Problems:
Sometimes, activating Overload doesn’t trigger the ultimate. The animation starts, but no attacks can be performed. It’s as if the game doesn’t fully register the activation. This wastes ultimate points and critical moments in fights.
Heavy Attack Bugs:
Overload’s heavy attack often fails to function correctly. Either the charge doesn’t fire at all, or it does significantly less damage than expected. Given that Overload relies heavily on its heavy attack for damage output, this bug severely impacts its viability.
Light and Heavy Attack Lockout:
Occasionally, players are unable to perform light or heavy attacks with Overload active. The only way to resolve this issue is to deactivate and reactivate the ultimate, which can be incredibly disruptive in the middle of combat.
Random Deactivation:
Overload sometimes turns off randomly, even without toggling it off manually or running out of ultimate points. This unpredictability makes it nearly impossible to use effectively.
Ultimate Point Drain:
There’s an occasional bug where Overload consumes more ultimate points than it should, even for light attacks. This can leave players drained of ultimate points much faster than intended.
Overload is a defining skill for many Sorcerer builds, and these issues not only hinder its effectiveness but also make the class feel incomplete. Many of us have submitted bug reports, but these problems have persisted for multiple patches.
I urge the development team to prioritize fixing Overload in the upcoming updates. Sorcerer mains and players who rely on Overload deserve a skill that works as intended.
