I have been an ESO+ member for 10 years and I am so embittered at what this game has become. The power outage was understandable as the backup failed and I along with many others who have worked in this field for years felt a certain amount of empathy for the developers and those responsible for maintaining it.
BUT, this constant disconnecting, losing contact with the server, and unknown errors occurring while being asked to wait a few minutes and "try again" is completely absurd, and my assumption is, that game "needs" and demands, vs. corporate profits, have lost the game's ability to satisfy 21 million players, mostly on the North American server. I am overwrought with a foreboding sense of loss, having spent several thousand dollars in crowns and game time. Zenimax/Bethesda owes us, the consumers, and should make it their priority to bring the game servers up to working standards that would eliminate this constant fiasco of disconnections that occur regularly, but even MORE on a Friday or Saturday night.
ZOS/Bethesda, if you continue down this path and don't meet the needs of the people that play this game on a regular basis, it will eventually come back to ruin you. People such as myself, are looking to find another MMORPG game to replace this one. It NOT what I want, but the games' decaying to this point is forcing us into it. I am begging you to PLEASE invest the necessary funds, exorbitant as they may be, to addressing this nightmare that has so many people direly upset. I sincerely hope someone reads this and is listening. Thanks.
