Maintenance for the week of December 23:
· [COMPLETE] NA megaservers for maintenance – December 23, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 9:00AM EST (14:00 UTC)
· [COMPLETE] EU megaservers for maintenance – December 23, 9:00 UTC (4:00AM EST) - 14:00 UTC (9:00AM EST)

We should have rotating weekly "mini events" that cycle through the old DLC zones.

It seems like people only play now during events. But we can't have a full-scale event (like Legacy of Bretons or Witches Festival) every week. What if we had a smaller scale mini event that was based in DLC zones? Just double drops from bosses, trials, and dailies. No new style pages, farming yield increase or visit from the Impresario.

This would provide two benefits that are desperately needed now:

First, it would make it significantly easier for new players to complete content in old DLC zones. I know people are going to say "New players can just join a guild/ask in zone chat/git gud/use activity finder/etc." Is that happening though? Like is everyone else seeing a massive influx of new players that I'm somehow missing?

Second, it would be something for old players to do. I know most of us are complete on motifs and plans from old zones, but they are something we could sell. Plus we'd get valuable style mats for use/sale.

I'm not saying this will completely solve the low population issues ESO is facing at the moment, but it's better than nothing. If we wait too long to try new things to bring new players to the game and old players back, it will be too late.

Really, we already have too many events. I'm really close to not doing the ones we have already - pretty sure 2024 New Life will be my last one....

I've been here since 2017, and I still have GOBS of things to do.... and that's totally outside of events.

Idk if it’d necessarily solve the player count issue, but it would re-liven these zones for sure. But, the downside is it could also lead to more burnout and fomo quickly. Tough to say.

Kinda along the lines of why people want an optional difficulty slider in older content with cool things to collect as a reward for doing so. It’d allow people to visit these older zones and spruce up overland, while maintaining the difficulty now for those who like it

if it seems few people dont participate in events is likely as others said its straight up event fatigue

adding more mini events wont help with that

i personally only usually do the bare minimum for tickets and thats about it, its not usually worth farming the boxes or anything for most events cause the rewards outside of the gold box are just awful

There are so many events, that when there aren’t, people are simply “living” which is why it seems people only play events.

Less events is the answer. Not more.

I would certainly like something like this.

There are definitely several zones where I have world boss achievements that need to get done, but can't because no one is ever around ... and, no asking in zone or using the group finder doesn't work, and I don't have any guilds.

But if people don't like events, they could just not participate. What I'm suggesting adds something for those who might find it appealing, and changes nothing for everyone else.

I mean… technically they do. They’re called Endeavors.

We get a lot of underpopulated things to show up in the Endeavor system (e.g. many PvP-centric things, some DLC-zone specific incursions, dailies like Sacraments and Heists) every so often. Any more than that, and you run the risk of burning people out. People are already talking about how the constant events are getting tiresome and are doing the opposite of making them want to play.

people are already ignoring the events as is lol, adding more events already wont change anything

events that drop motifs and such dont make any of those things worth selling, in fact it depresses prices due to influx of supply

I wouldn't mind mini-events, or mini-celebrations, that encourage interested players to spend more time in specific zones. But as already seen in some of the other responses, there are players who feel there are already too many events and they would just complain. There used to be endeavors that were for killing delve bosses in specific zones, and something like that could perhaps be expanded upon, although there haven't seemed to be as many as those types of endeavors in a while. But as for myself, I would not mind it.

People are still playing. They may be more spread out in the world and not concentrated in a few areas, but there are playing.

I'm personally sick of the constant events. The last thing we need are more.

I would like a double-drop rotation, but not an actual event. Just something low-key, drop in, drop out.

I'm still waiting for infinite archive weekend bonuses. If it doesn't involve tickets, it is very optional. Do it if you want, play hello kitty island adventure if you'd rather.

This. No tickets, no fomo driven time limited collectibles. Just double drops and maybe resources. It would be nice.

i would like more frequent Mini Events as long as they are without tickets.

As an example, an Infinite Archive event with a little Archival Fortunes bonus would be fun every so often.

Absolutely random and merely an off-the-cuff idea:

Maybe something like ... Dec 17-23 double harvesting drops in [name the older map] as well as random (maybe 1:5) chance of a [that map] coffer for an activity such as delve completion, quest completion, or daily quest completion. Coffer would hold area specific crafting ingredient, an amount of gold, even an area/culture appropriate furnishing pattern, and a bit of level appropriate gear or merchant fodder.

There are quite a few older maps, and tying it to those activities limits the farming somewhat, hopefully, but would benefit players (especially newer ones).

Sorry, caffeine hasn't kicked in yet, and the brain isn't really working well.

Yes. It appears that most of the people complaining about event burnout are complaining about time-limited collectibles, while your suggestion of simple doubling of rewards avoids that.

Maybe with separate event currency that allow you to buy the fomo items from previous years? The current events would not need to have grab bags.

I think it would be a waste not to incentivize the old zones. But I'd personally like to see the old zones get reworked first to fit with the improved post-basegame zones' design and aesthetic.

It would certainly make less used guild traders more valuable by rotating the player population around the map.

The only thing I do events for now is tickets. In the last few years the only thing I've had to spend tickets on is indriks because all that time limited morph stuff (other than the indriks) is SO not any of it my things. I have all the indriks I want but one from Q1 on two accounts, and my newest account (both pc megaservers) needs a few more in the coming year. And that will be it for events for me thank you. I'll never bother with another one after I get the last indriks.
