I’m currently leveling up Isobel. But for my next companion, I’m torn between Ember and Sharp. Ember because I heard she’s the best DPS and Sharp because of his roasts and snarky attitude lmao.
Time flies like an arrow- but fruit flies like a banana.
Sorry for my English, I do not always have a translation tool available. Thank you for your patience with our conversation and working towards our mutual understanding of the topic.
i love that Tanlorin loves flowers so much like me, they're awesome.
also love Ember, Isobel, and Zerith a lot.
miaow! i'm Luna ( she/her ).

He doesn't complain at me for basically anything (Only some stuff I rarely do). He's decent at any role (Melee DPS, Ranged DPS, Tank, Healer). His questline is decent. His comments can be amusing.
Zertith is second place though. With similar reasons, only he complains more often due to his dislike of theft/bounty removal/fencing. I'm also not as big a fan of his questline as Sharp's.
They're very natural mind set.
They're not much egoistic.
They're cheerful, but also realist.
They're realistic people who have been standing on the ground
but not like "flying ghost" personality.
And, always give me calm and comfortable emotion.

My playing time Mon-Friday UTC13:00-16:00 [PC-NA] CP over2000 now.
I'm Tank and Healer main player.
Normally I would say Ember for her excellent sorcerer skills with both damage and damage shields with healing. Plus, she's very perky and funny.
Zerith is also wonderful, with a personality like your favorite uncle. His skills are nicely rounded out with an AOE Fear which is great in public dungeons.
But, I had to vote for Azandar who has a quirky, scholarly, sesquipedalian (google that word one time and you will remember it for the rest of your life) sense of humor and uses more Arcanist-type skills than your average human Arcanist who tends to use the "green beam" and nothing else.
He loves it when you get any epic or legendary item in your inventory and says so about three times! He also laughs and laughs if you are in a public dungeon, for example, and start killing scads of enemies. He just loves it!
Also, he loves tea and I love tea!
However, I keep four out of eight companions on my quick wheel. Isobel, Ember, Azandar and Zerith. The other four are, errr, let's say they're on sabbatical.
(You should also google "callipygian pulchritude." Again, you will remember it for the rest of your life!)
Bastian gets my vote because he can tank up to Tho’at second arc for me. (I can’t get much further on my own.). He also has some entertaining comments that make me laugh even though I have heard them often enough.
I have not had a chance to spend much time with Zerith-var but he could be my favorite personality-wise. I have only finished the quest to unlock him as a companion so far.

Interesting, I didn't respect the results to play out as they currently have, but I do have to agree that it's Sharp. I don't actually use him as much as others but he has the best story and I love his voice acting.
Isobel gives approval points for each daedric adversary that is slain, and i like doing the dark anchors/dolmens as a casual pastime. Our interests are aligned.
I use companions once in a blue moon only. I'm the type who dislikes having followers. Who-/What-ever running behind my back all the time - as well as being surrounded generally - just gets me nuts.
For the few activities I do with a companion, I prefer Bastian. We match well as a team, or better said, he is behaving the way I want in fights, what I do really appreciate.
I got two more companions after Bastian but never used them. And after that, I definitely stop caring about.
I'm out of my mind, feel free to leave a message... PC/NA
Independent of their prowess in combat, I find the most important quality of companions is their character.
Sharp and Isobel are the most consistent with a specific type of fantasy character. Even if one does not like that specific character.
This consistency is what makes them amenable acquaintances.
Ember is the best example for inconsistencies. She is living on the streets with this supposedly tightly knit group of really good friends, but when she "looses" them, she goes to a remote island to study magic and wait for someone to turn up and push her into searching for them.
Zerith-var: just a great personality design, mature and believable.
And, as someone who started with TES in Oblivion when she was a kid and found the Ahzirr Traajijazeri book and was so intrigued with the fantasy foreign language (my first experience with a conlang) and shortly after fell in love with learning foreign languages in general which changed my life trajectory, Zerith's use of ta'agra feels special to me.
It really helps make the TES world feel big and real as well. I hope the devs make more use of the TES languages in content.
Azandar: while his kookiness isn't really my thing, his personality feels like a believable character and is relatively mature. And I prefer scholars.
Isobel: she is very cute and I think the sweet, wide-eyed knight-to-be personality is nailed.
Bastian / Mirri / Sharp-As-Night: all feel like real people which is a plus for me
Ember: not my kind of personality, but makes sense for what it's supposed to be
Tanlorin: Ember if she didn't make sense, so I have to headcanon everything about them
No real favorites. One thing that would be a great feature is the ability to use the blade of woe on your own companion. For:Snarky comments, negative rep, and Isobel (just because). LOL
I like and use all the companions, so very hard to choose.
Zerith is my new favorite for voice and companionship but Tanlorin is very deadly and effective, melting thrash with AOE like a boss so it's hard to say.
It was originally Bastian for a very long time. But then Zerith came along and dethroned him.
He's got an awesome voice, I love his story, his dialogue, his design. He ticks that box of a big, knightly companion that I wanted from Bastian, and for ESO standards anyway, his story is decently complex.
Can't really get past the thing on Ember's head sadly. Also can't really get past the fact that Azandar have a flesh atronach ( sorry but it's gross ).
Although I like Zerith (and have not entirely finished his story-line), I truly love Sharp and his fit with my character. He seems to have more 'heart'!
Isobel. The unlock quest is a lot of running around, though. She makes a good tank, and that is really what I want out of the companions. Someone to provide a distraction.
That said, I don't usually unlock Isobel. The easiest to unlock are Bastian, Mirri, and Ember. Then Isobel. The Sharp and Azandar ones are so long that I did Azandar (found him first) and never bothered with Sharp. I turned Azandar into a healer thinking it might be nice for new characters, then realized I was never going to unlock him again.
I have no idea about the Pay Companions, as I don't have either of them.
I really liked Mirri as a character from her story but i feel she gets a bad reputation because even with the highest affinity, many of her offhand comments in world come off as rather abrasive compared to say the more bubbly Ember or Zerith's curiosity.
Sharp for some reason comes across as similarly abrasive in some ways but its been absorbed by the community as more of a tough guy and cautious way which is seen as endearing somehow.
