Style pages

I don't normally do events because I rarely have enough time at one sitting.
I have in the last few days done some of the event quests.
I got the 2 handed and dagger pages, but don't really understand them. Do I need to pay the amount on the bottom of the page to use them is that how it works? Kinda confused about this never having done it before.

You don’t pay to learn motifs/style pages, but you do pay to apply them at the outfit station.

Not sure about paying, if on PC and using master merchant or other trading mods it will show average sale or listing price.
You don't have to pay for anything you get as loot, this is just an suggested sales price who probably is to high.
So you might want to sell it instead but the real price at end of an event will normally be much lower.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

when you apply styles at the outfit station, there is a cost associated to apply a style, the price tends to vary per style

You just need to "use" the style page once to learn it. And it's account wide across all characters.

After that you'll always be able to apply that outfit style to the slot it is attached to (ie.. 2 Handed, Dagger, Chest, Feet, etc..) at an Outfit Station.

If you have already used/learned that particular page, any subsequent pages you acquire cannot be re-learned, so you can sell them on the guild traders, or give them away to friends, or trade with others who might need it and have one you still need.

Yeah, the cost to apply a style in the outfit system is the main reason I don't use the outfit system. But occasionally there are styles which are free to apply, or which cost very little to apply. If it weren't for those few free styles, I probably wouldn't ever use the outfit system at all.
