Drop rates for Heavily Played Tribute Cards

What in the heck has happened to the drop rate for Heavily Played Tribute Cards?

I'm 4 away from getting the emote, and since the last patch, I have had no luck getting these to drop from gold tribute coffers.

There do seem to be drop rate changes for TOT over time. For example, I also don't seem to be getting as many mundane rune, hardwood, transmute crystals, or golden style pages as I used to get. Maybe it hasn't changed much, but that's my biased view.

When I did recently get a Psijic Psion page, I actually got three of them all within the same half hour or so. That's seeding for you. That's why I recommend opening coffers in bulk. That can backfire of course. I opened 100 coffers at once on my smurf and got no Heavily Played cards or the other Fragment at all.

I feel like the drop rates for all of Tales has made Tales feel so much less rewarding than it used to be. Doesn't even feel like it even justifies the time it takes any longer.

That's absolutely what's happened.

My guess is that some clever players found a way to automate matches against NPC opponents.

I think that one of the issues is that the quality color of the boxes changed at some poiont.

Didn't ranked play used to give purple boxes for winning?

That may explain the change. I bet the blue/green boxes have a really low chance of the rewards that most players are looking for.

I've seen the same with the scraps of the spearhead. Been stuck on 2 away from what I need for over 6 months

Yeah, I only have one of those, and it was one that dropped the first year it was out. Since then, nada.

There really is something wrong with the drop rates of the Tribute collectables.

I'm guessing they stop dropping once you've collected the collectibles, because I haven't gotten any of those fragments since completing the collectibles back in August of 2023.

I still get Transmute Crystals often enough to make me wince, since it seems like I'm forever needing to reconstruct a dagger or three to store 25, 50, or 75 crystals every so often so I can pick up more from my Tales of Tribute winnings.

Drop rate is abyssmal, indeed. I gave up on it and just hope these fragment will at some point appear at an EA vendor for purchase.

I hope so!! Both that and the Scraps of the Spearhead's Colors. They're so rare that they may as well be nonexistent.
