Haven't played Arc at all...just made a character really designed for vet content. I know there are build guides out there, but I'd like to get some "on the ground" build advice from players first. Thank you much :)

    Depends on content, but:
    Sets:
    - Coral riptide if possible, ansuul if not
    - Deadly single-target, azureblight aoe
    - 1pc med slimecraw
    - Velothi amulet

    Skills:
    - Banner with fire or magicka (currently being argued which one's meta) + class mastery + I think savagery/prophecy?
    - Exhausting fatecarver does slightly more damage than pragmatic in ideal conditions
    - Ceph flail
    - Quick cloak
    - Barbed trap
    - Dawnbreaker

    - Banner on backbar too
    - Caltrops
    - Fulminating rune
    - Elemental blockade
    - Inspired Scholarship
    - Languid eye

Stamina arcanist, highest race for damage probably dark elf, can run bistat (max health + max stam) food

    CP:
    - Thaumaturge
    - Biting aura
    - wrathful strikes
    - exploiter

To do maximum damage, maximize the amount of time you're beaming with fatecarver and ideally line up your languid eye and fatecarver with when the enemy is off-balance. Also, try to hit as many things as possible with fatecarver. If needed, you can do this by turning around as well because fatecarver does damage slightly behind you.

    Ah...I see I don't have access to Scrivener's Hall....guess I'll use Harpooner's instead when the time comes :)

keep in mind harpooners will take a while longer to build up stacks due to how often you are dealing direct damage. There's usually an ESO+ free event in January, make sure to take advantage of it to get the velothi amulet because it really is by far the best mythic on arc.

Harpooners is bugged right now. All damage drops stacks, not just direct damage. It's unusable.

If you don't have Velothi grab Mora's whispers (the shoulder mythic) and farm them lorebooks.

Since I rarely use arcanist I went with a partially crafted build that does ok for most pve content (though vet trials probably not in the cards)

    5pc orders wrath
    5pc kvatch gladiator
2pc slime craw or 1pc slime craw and oaken soul mythic.

Here's Skinny Cheek's Easy Arc DPS guide if you want to check it out. It has multiple build setups you can cycle through if you have some content available but not others. There's also a video guide linked there if you prefer.

I take it Arc is focused, at least with vet/trial content, as AOE yes?

Barbed trap gives minor force, which Velothi also gives. It's still a great skill because it guarantees the Hemorrhaging status effect, and immobilizes.

But I hate it, mostly due to having to be right up at the boss, so you have to be melee, or leave the DPS stack and run up to cast it. I also hate the delay on activation, because my skills routinely don't activate anyway, so I end up spamming trap thinking it hasn't cast.

If I'm running dual wield, I replace it with Traveling Knife, scribed with Bleed Damage, Lingering Torment (DoT) and Major Savagery and Prophecy. Similar but less damage, no doubling up on minor force, and much easier (and more fun!) to cast.

I prefer running traveling knife on the front bar with Cloak on the back bar. It run it with off-balance since sorcery/brutality is provided by tank/potions. I find it much rarer to find groups routinely procing off balance on cooldown, so this is a good way to boost group damage yourself without leaving it to chance.

For my arc I run the following:

    GEAR:
    Velothi
    1 piece Slimecraw
    5 piece Coral Riptide
    5 piece Deadly (daggers front)
    VMA Inferno back bar
    SKILLS:
    Runecarver>Flail>Quick Cloak>Trap>Fiery Banner - FLAWLESS DAWNBREAKER
    Unstable Blockade>Rune of Displace>Inspired Scholar>Cruxweaver Armor>Fiery Banner - LANGUID EYE

Banner uses Class focus, DOT signature, and Savagery/Prophecy affix.

Last parse I hit 111k but that can certainly be higher with Perfected Coral and perfect rotation.
~PC/NA~ Magblade, Tankanist, Healplar, Stamcro, Oakensorc, Healden, Tanknight ~PLUR~
