Can't post images in certain categories

When I try to upload an image to the Community Generated Content section it shows up as only "image url" and the "choose file" option is missing. This happened when the categories changed.

The only way I could upload an image is by creating a draft in another category like General Discussion, upload an image, copy the url, go back to community generated content, and paste the url in the new post.

You can’t post images in most categories, Zeni decided on forum launch in 2013 that they don’t want to be in the image storage and indexing business for their forums, which isn’t uncommon. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part we’ve always had to upload photos and videos to a 3rd party hosting site and link them in posts and comments here. This isn’t new.

I believe this is bugged right now. I checked our backend system and you should be able to upload. I'm going to escalate this to Vanilla (our forum provider) to make sure they know this is not working properly.

I never heard of ZoS making any such decision and this is not how it normally works. I have never used a 3rd party hosting site and have posted images many times. The only times it didn't work was when it was bugged, like now.
