[BG] 8v8 - Let us deathmatch while waiting for players to join

We wait for up to 5 minutes doing nothing. Let us drop down from spawn and fight other players while we wait.

This would be for 8v8 standard battlegrounds only.

In 4v4 competitive battlegrounds, players should still have to wait and not get an early peek at combat.

    Also the teams can be temporary while waiting for players to join. Then once the match starts, the teams are randomized. That way players don't leave before the match starts because they think the teams are lopsided.

    Can you imagine how amazing this BG patch would have been had they asked for feedback on formats 4-5 months ago?

    Instead we get this.

    Being able to spar your teammates before the match would be really cool.
    PC/NA || Cyro/BGs || retired until Dagon brings a new dawn of PvP metas

    Thats a great idea, just like in battleroyal games you can run around kill eachother while waiting. It would sure feel the que time less annoying.

    The idea is from Rocket League. In casual games, players can play with the ball in between matches while they wait for others to join. Then once there's enough players, the teams are created and the game starts.

    Rocket League gets so much right. The game modes, ranks, rewards, matchmaking. It's all done so well.

    Agree, however we really do not know if Zos has contracted with any players to provide feedback so we can't say they didn't get feedback. I asked above (or on another thread, not sure) that they at least consider expanding who they get feedback from if they do actually take feedback. If they don't, they should.

    I mean.. we don't know for sure, but if they're taking feedback from anyone, it's from unkillable pvp tanks

    This is how most DM games work. While waiting for the match to start, you spawn in and mess around. No respawn times, no points that are tracked, just running around DMing or emoting or being silly while waiting for the match to start.
