Shielders and Necromancers are not able to climb BG leaderboards as easily.

This issue was brought up Week 1 of PTS, but was not addressed or fixed.

In a BG, the scoreboard numbers and Medals Earned do not account for Pet Damage, Pet Healing, or Shielding Done to teammates.

Necromancers thus earn very little in Medal Score comparatively, since most of their damage and healing comes from Blastbones and Ghost.

Shielders earn basically nothing, since nearly all of a shielder's "Healing Done" is done through Shielding and goes completely unrecognized by way of scoreboard numbers and Medal Score.

These issues have existed since BGs were first introduced and were never addressed. Now that there is a "Competitive" Leaderboard (big air quotes there), it needs to be fixed to maintain any semblance of fairness between classes and builds.

Agreed. I did about 20-25 competitive battlegrounds yesterday (that actually started) and I only saw "1" necromancer the entire day. About 8-9 hours of playing. You can't blame them though, why bother playing this class when most of your abilities don't count towards anything, since the leaderboards are largely based off medal scores.

This class needs a lot of help still, and I'd love to see the addition of shielder medals.

It's really disheartening playing as a necro.

Here's a great representation of how terrible this medal scoring system is:

Below is a report from my last group queue BG with the old 4v4v4 system. It was a DM that lasted the whole 15 minutes because of how much egregious healing there was:
    pnsrvs59h7cg.png

I was granted 4722 points, whereas the warden heal on the green team got 7000.

However, when I look at the cmx reports, add in the mender, but subtract out the healing I did to myself, I actually did 2,370,373 healing - 672,778 was from mender alone.

Additionally, I did 640,239 dmg from blastbones, which would make my total damage 2,325,818.

    Damage: 2,325,818
    Healing: 2,370,373

That's a combined total of 4,696,191. The point leader for the round has a total contribution of 4,014,000. Whereas, there's a DK in that match who lost who did nearly 5M dmg, but they are 2nd to last in terms of points.

The medal scoring system makes absolutely no sense to me.

The healer on the losing team only contributed 2,099,000 total to their team, less than half of what I contributed, but they take 2nd place in terms of points.

It's really mind boggling that ZOS devoted over a year of development to this update, but never thought to address the blatant failure of the scoring system.

Seriously though, this should be fixed. Shield Arcanist healer is always at the bottom in medal score despite mitigating millions of damage for teammates. Shields should count as heals when damage is absorbed.

As long as they make damage against shields count towards damage medals it should be fine :)

The fact that ZOS specifically replied to the problem with Healing and high Medals/Leaderboard, but completely ignored the issue with Pet Damage/Healing and Shielding leads me to believe that they will simply sweep it under the rug and ignore it for another 5+years. I hope that I'm wrong.
