I need advice for fighting NPCs.

Hi, I need advice on how to win a fight vs NPCs. I'm playing ToT only daily quest (3 wins vs NPC) to get Lead. I am a new player in ToT and only have the basic 4 patrons. Always my fight with NPCs (novice NPC) is long and I just often lose (not always but about 60% of games I lose). I try to get cards from raven patron or red cards from pelin patron but just often I am somehow surrounded by NPCs and I don't know what to do.

I've seen "how to" videos on YouTube on how to win activation of all patrons but I can't do this because NPCs always activate too. Spam crow patron also no longer works.

And I saw a video where it is recommended to spam Rajhin patron. Does this work? Before I would go unlock this patron, is it worth it and or is this also somehow "patched"?

Or could someone please advise me on a strategy or what patron to unlock to play vs NPCs? I don't want to be a "pro" player, I just want to make the daily quest as easy as possible (for the sake of Lead).
I appreciate any help. :-)

Pink Apple has a YouTube channel that goes over a tier list of cards from different decks. It's a little bit outdated now with the nerfs/buffs and introduction of new decks. If you just want to crush the NPC, then picking cards that are individually good on their own should be enough. This won't be nearly as effective if you ever decide to play competitive mode against human opponents.

Spamming Rhajin works in some situations, but you don't need to bother with those details when facing the NPC. However, if you ever want to play on the ladder, then you should learn the the Rahjin deck. It has a lot of strategic depth to it even if many people consider it toxic.

Hi, thank you very much. This morning I saw a video from a player (supposedly rank 5 or something like that) where he was discussing the 4 basic patrons + the neutral one and also the individual cards.
I'll definitely go (probably now, I'm at work and have time  ) to check out your link as well.
This information is very important for me as a newbie in ToT so once again, thanks.

I'm not really interested in playing vs other players etc, it's just about that Lead, so for me the ideal situation is if I crush 3 NPCs once a day for a daily quest, yknow.
Rhajin can be unlocked through a few quests so I guess I'll unlock it and try it to see how (and if) it works vs NPC.

My main advice for a beginner would be: "Don't buy cards just because you can". Buying bad cards has two disadvantages. Firstly they 'dilute' your own stack. Secondly they could be replaced with a much better card which the NPC then has first opportunity to buy. So, in the beginning, buy the 'good' cards, but focus on building up your capital by upgrading your treasury cards or even converting non-treasury cards to treasury cards. Ideally, you want to be able to buy 6, 7 and 8 gold cards before the NPC can.
Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

I think this is one of the best pieces of advice out there, seriously. Obviously, cashing your coin cards at the beginning is a good start, but even later in the game this is important. I've left coin on the table instead of spending it on a card in the tavern, for 2 reasons: Don't want to buy a meh card and have it replaced by something good that I don't have coin for, and what @Muizer said.

Oh, and the NPC is terrible. Don't use a patron like Druid or a card in the tavern to replace cards unless the card being replaced is REALLY good, you know the NPC can buy it, and you don't have the coin to buy it yourself. The NPC will always spend all their coin doing this, mostly to your benefit.

my typical go to for easy wins on the NPC is using red eagle + rahjin

the NPC wont ever or rarely will remove bewilderment cards, and they are very dumb with deck pruning from red eagle (which is a deck that also has the highest amount of contract cards
    plays PC/NA
    handle @Necrotech_Master
    active player since april 2014

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Thanks for the advice guys, well I'm doing better, and I dare to say that about 80-90% of games vs NPCs I win.

I don't have the red eagle deck yet (from what I've seen so many people like it) because I haven't met the requirements for unlocking the deck yet but I'll definitely unlock it eventually and try.
