Mannimarco

Hi, I'm level 49 Sorc. and I am obviously doing something wrong or not utilizing the best spells. I can not defeat this guy.. I get my butt handed to me everytime and I'm not even sure I can level to 50 or go on to veteran without doing this main story quest. Any suggestions?

Also, suggest a forum search on "mannimarco". There are many threads with lots of discussion on how to beat him.

I did this at L40 (on level?) and am still hurting** from the 'sorc' experience.

After 3 deaths using my newly crafted L40 destruction staff (with 40-odd levels in that weapon skill line), I was on the verge of coming back when I was a bit higher but decided instead to have one more go using my restoration staff. The staff I had equipped was L30 and Resto staff tree was sitting at L9 (I'd healed in a dungeon exactly twice lol) so as you can imagine, I didn't have high hopes.

As it happened the first heal you get (springs?) was all I needed to survive and win the fight. So as much as it pains me to say it, if you have a resto staff, use it. If you don't, then my only other suggestion would be to armour up to survive the adds (these were what were killing me on my single target. light-armoured, dps sorc.

**I'm refusing to go into the thread about sorcs vs MB. After Mannimarco, just reading the title makes me want to weep :(

I beat him as a level 42 vamp nightblade but it was difficult. I did it on the 10th try. I switched out my medium armor for plate, used self heals (hopefully you have some). I made sure I pooled stam to interrupt his cast, he casts something (I think its blue that does uber damage). When the minions came out of the portals I used my Drain Essence to heal myself using them.

It's a survival fight, you need to manage your magicka and stam and your interrupts and find a way to self heal. Don't blow all your resources early trying to dps him down. If your disorient doesn't work on him you may want to fight him up close so you can use your interrupt. Suggest you use your Boundless Storm (or w/e it is called, the armor and SR buff) and anything that allows you to leech health.

I beat him with my level 46 sorc but had to use the resto staff and constantly run and heal. Took at least 15 minutes. Went back with my level 46 DK and just beat the bejeezus out of him. Took less than 5 minutes. One really needs the right build for the right time otherwise it's a long night.

He is so easy but i did fight him with my 43 templar. I used a charge to close the gap when he telrports abd heal potions thtoughout the fight. The only thing that can kill you are his adds so use an aoe to one shot them as soon as they appear. Oh and dont bother with any reflect spell skills... He is immune. Smash him wuth light geavy attacks if you are short on stammag. You should be dpsing him at all times

Well I can show you what worked for me:

    1. Thundering Presence - that's the AOE lighting/armor/DOT effect. If you get Thundering Presence up to Level IV it lasts for 9 seconds. When you follow Mannimarco around, you're doing a gradual DOT attack on him, which helps.

    2. Entropy - this is a Mage Guild spell you can get at Mage Guild Rank 4 (start collecting lore books, kids!). This has quickly become my favorite spell, it's a DOT for 12 seconds, and gives you 2 heals, one right off the bat and one six seconds later. If you morph it to Degeneration, it gives you a further effect--every melee hit has a 15% chance of healing you at the same amount as the damage inflicted (this is really only useful if you use a melee weapon - my sorcerer dual wields. Also, I think this percentage improves when Degeneration advances in ranks, but I haven't been able to test that yet). Entropy was good because every 12 seconds I'd fire it off and I'd get steady healing through the fight. Not as much as a restoration staff, I don't think, but it was also another steady DOT effect.

    3. Lots of potions - Entropy alone didn't keep me alive, BUT it kept me up long enough for the potion timer to expire so I could drink another one.

    4. Clannfear - this guy wasn't terribly useful as far as damage was concerned, but he mindlessly attacked M when I found it necessary to run away shrieking, and that was usually enough for M to turn to it for a while, buying me some breathing space. I had to resummon a few times.

    5. Atronach Ultimate - the tricky part here is that Atronach doesn't move, and M does. However, after a while I noticed M zipped between a few set points, so once he dropped to 30% I summoned my Greater Atronach (longer duration), pretty soon M ported away. That's when I threw caution to the wind and really poured on the aggression - M's porting seems to be linked to how much damage he takes - and sure enough, he ported again... BACK INTO THE ATRONACH'S RANGE. That part was pretty sweet.

    6. Dark Exchange - because pretty much all my attack spells are magicka based, Dark Exchange is useful even at it's lowest tier, and I needed to use this once in order to get my magicka back up. However, apparently it won't fire if it determines you don't have the stamina for the full three seconds, so watch your rolls, which you'll probably be using, because of his !@#$% AOEs.

    7. Endless Fury - I'll be honest, this is only useful when M gets down to 20%, when it can start using its extra explosion. The temptation to spam this at the beginning was high, but I eventually stopped because it didn't seem to be doing much. Once he hits the "OK SPELL WILL EXPLODE NOW" threshold I started spamming it like crazy. That and the Atronach was what took him out in the end.

I managed to get him on my first go at level 41, BUT -- and I want to make this as clear as I can -- I'm pretty sure a large part of it was just luck on my part. Luck, luck, luck luck luck luck. Still some of the tactics might be useful if you have access to the same spells.

I don't know about you guys but on my breton templar lvl 41, the fight took ages but he seemed to do next to no damage. I think I had to use a heal maybe twice over about 5 mins? but man he had some hp.

I think his main damage is that AOE of his, and the closer you are to him when that goes off the more damage you take. I had to roll a lot.

I fought him maybe four times. Everytime I lost by the most minimul of amounts, it kept coming down to him getting in the last punch when we both were about to die. I added two points of health to my sorcerer, and I got the last punch in. Very difficult fight without using a heal. Btw, when you get to the last quest in the main quest line, be sure to have been using your resto staff (just a helpful hint).

The Rapid Regeneration heal on the resto staff is so useful, I have went from the character start to VR2 using only that heal and Sorc spells on a single bar. For very little Magicka it ticks enough to give me in effect 50% more health during a fight and that is if only cast once. Between that and Lightning form buffing armor and spell resist, it makes me able to take some hits. I have had fights where I did 18k damage, and healed me and my pet for over 12k.

I am just now swapping to a destro staff at quest turn ins to level that for Impulse, so I can try an AoE weapon swap bar. But I will keep the resto staff on one bar. It is also fun to run up and pop a heal on players about to die.

As a side effect, since I am always spamming this heal on players, I find lootable dead mobs around every dungeon corner that I never touched. It seems you get to loot any normal mobs that another players kills while your heal is ticking on them.

I credit the resto staff heal for letting me one shot Mannimarco and Molag, and letting me have an easier time in VR zones.

Edit: I rarely use the Overload ultimate, but if morphed to give Magicka it can be very handy on a long attrition fight. When I know I am going to meet a high health boss that my storm antronch will not kill, I save up ultimate and slot overload. You can use that to help keep your Magicka up and it hits for decent DPS.

Lets see...I was a normal nightblade, I think I was 3 levels above the quest (can't remember exactly at the moment) I was able to beat him on my fourth attempt. Fights 2-3, the portals glitched and were STILL open from the first fight....

Anyway, I used poison injection, soul shread, drain shot and silver shards spam for the adds. I just dodged the big orb when it came down, and used 2 health pots and one stam.

Felt good when that *** died

From talking to guildies it seems as though templars and dks find this fight to be faceroll. The heavy armor really helps.

I did this on my NB last night at 42 and the fight actually was a let down, after reading all the problems people were having with this.

I never even had to use a heal pot or for that matter any pots.

Not saying it wasnt fun just saying i was shocked at the easy with which my NB got through it

I wanted to thank all of you for your comments or tips. It actually helped! I beat the guy on Saturday and I am pretty sure I screamed "I did it!" loud enough for my neighbors to hear lol. It was still extremely difficult imho as a sorceror, and it took me a considerable amount of time, but I'm glad I didn't give up :)
