[REQUEST] Please make Eidectic Memory Books account-wide

I know this has been asked many times before, but ZOS please make Eidectic Memory books account-wide. I'm not including Lore Books, or Shalidor's Library, just Eidectic. I'm so tired of realizing a book is in a Quest only location and the only way to get it is to beg a friend to do the quest so they can invite me once they get to the appropriate location. I'll be happy to find the book on another character just as long as it will count toward the total of Eidectic Memory books found. (This won't impact Mages Guild skill line, Mora mythic, or anything that affects leveling in-game skills). Alternatively, don't put books in quest bound locations, but this won't fix those already in game. Please!

Quest book locations should have a secondary location outside of the quest area. If not, report it in game. Not saying they will fix it, but my view is that it should have already been fixed. So, report it.

As for account wide books of any sort.... just... no.

Use one character only in this game, which solves all of these pesky account wide problems.

There are little reasons "Eidetic Memory" books shouldn't be account wide at this point.

I like collecting them but can only realistically do it on my Nightblade since it's my original main even though I don't enjoy playing it anymore and would rather play other characters.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm, but a lot of people love playing more than one character. This isn't even an argument against it, it's just bait.

The only way you can experience the whole game is to level mutliple characters—there are achievements tied to levelling specific classes…

The only downsides/potential problems I can currently think of:
    1. Skill line XP books would already be "read".
    2. It might not be THAT simple if quests actually rely on books not being discovered (I doubt this would be an issue as we would otherwise see it after abadoning a quest after reading an associated book and starting it again).

I'm generally against account-wide things, but Eidetic Memory text are the one thing I think should be account-wide.

I used to be one of them. Over the years, I have had several dozen characters in this game. A few years ago, the developers started inconveniencing people who had multiple characters per account. Monetizing might be a better word. Armory slots and Outfit slots come to mind. The characters were still independent, though. Today, not so much.

I rolled back to one character per account/platform.

Since I did that, my life is much simpler. Much simpler. I am seriously saying that one character better aligns with how ZOS is moving forward.

There are still a few books that one can only get during quests (I still haven't gotten one that supposedly was fixed but it wasn't). Plus, with 5000+ books and counting, I think it's about time they were made account-wide.

The lorebooks in trials are the hardest ones for me to get. I have done some old trials on my main toon but we didn’t go around and specifically look for every book so I missed some. Now my main toon is woefully inadequate to participate in trials due to class nerfs.

Group dungeon lorebooks are also hard to get. Even if you run with friends, no one wants to take the time to hunt down books. If you have to PUG the dungeon then flat out forget it. Once you are left in the instance by yourself, there is no time to look around for books or chests before it times out.

Surely making eidetic books account wide would help game performance, too.

One thing this will affect, as currently designed, is unlocking book furnishings (from treasure chests, Scrivener’s Hall, and the Infinite Archive).
Personally, I think it would be if these books weren’t bound and could be traded, but as it stands, lore books not being accountwide enables curation of drops (at least from treasure chests, the drops from SH chests and now IA are, alas, too sparse to know).

It would be nice if you could read the ones you've found on any character, while it could still track whether your current character has found it yet or not, for people who care about that.

There are also 2 inside the EP home bases in Cyrodiil. Unless you switch factions there & back or are EP, you can't get to them.

Go to the Website The Imperial Library to access all the books. I know it is not in game it is just a way to read them.

[snip] They need to fix this.

As much as I love hearing the new lorebook sound, I also wish this was account-wide. Not all my characters can do every content so I don't even try to finish the collection.

Check the EP gates when they are open. All the alliance base-specific books have been moved to one of the two gates for anyone not on that alliance to obtain.

Yes or remove them and make all books avaible if you have completed a region quests.
The bugs in this collection are way too many.

Yes indeed. It should be account wide. Because there are too many books that you can miss and can not get post quest.

Well, well, well, if it isn't thread about another long-standing, very-popular request that ZOS has never seen fit to implement.

And before someone points out that the very first response in the thread was someone saying how they think the think is working just fine and don't want anything to change, allow me point out that there's always an early response in these kinds of threads that takes the "everything is fine; nothing to see here; move along" approach. And then follows 27 pages of people overwhelmingly supporting the suggested change.

    And yet nothing changes.

I'm losing patience about this sort of thing. Months after month, year after year, thread after thread about performance issues or PVP balance problems or sorc pets or drop rates or whatever... and these things do not change. It's almost like ZOS isn't listening to the feedback or something. And, no, mods saying that they're taking the topic to the devs doesn't count. CHANGE counts.

The mythic "Mora's Whispers" gives: (1 item) Gain up to 1528 Critical Chance and 10% increased Inspiration, Alliance Rank, Alliance skill, and 15% monster kill experience based off how many books of Shalidor's Library have been collected.

I'm totally against anything else being made account-wide, the pendulum has swung too far in that direction already.

Shalidor's Library and Eidetic Memory are two different sections of the Lore Library.
Shalidor's Library: The books that level your Mages Guild skill
Eidetic Memory: All the scraps of paper, letters and random books you find in the world.

They can be easy to overlook on your first pass of a zone/quest area, and can be a pain to backtrack for

Having Eidetic Memory be account-wide would not affect that particular Mythic.

I am usually of the same opinion, but this is one thing that I wouldn't mind being account-wide.

    And?

We're talking about eidetic memory which is a different thing.
