Missed the comet

I missed seeing the comet, won't be back for 80,000 years, so, oh well.

But I was thinking maybe zos you could do another stars story, i really liked craglorn and the stars, and also be nice to have comets in the sky and shooting stars.

Be a change from daedric princes.

Well, there are a thousand other comets that will pass close to Earth, so you might be able to shave a few years of that 80,000 before seeing one of them.

I've never actually done the Craglorn story, but you are right in that they tend to use the constellations for puzzles, and not much else.

That which plagues Nirn comes from Daedric Princes, and as stuck in a rut that is, it is about all that ZOS seems to want to do. The stories have to be over the top, and Daedric Princes are easy for that purpose. They can't hardly do a war because, well, Cyrodiil. Few people really care of some little postage stamp size part of Tamriel is ruled by Bob or Suzie, outside of Bob and Suzie.

Lower Craglorn is easily my favorite zone story! It kind of got gutted when they turned it single player though. 😒 And I’m still annoyed that they dumped the entirety of Summerset on us and never once touched on the Celestials.

Depends on your perspective of the lore really.

In old Aldmeri terms, the D'aedra technically means " Not our ancestors". And if I understand the lore correctly Ithelia much like Meridia is one of the Magna-Ge or children of Magnus; a daedra by loose association rather than the more traditionally evil ones like Molag Bal or Mehrunes Dagon.

I do think a plotline involving more of the magna-ge might be an option depending on the circumstances but if my intuition is correct, we're looking at Sanguine being set up as the next BBEG for the 2025 Chapter

What world-ending threat can we expect this time? People dancing until they collapse from exhaustion? I mean, it would be something different for once... On Nirn, at least.

You can still see it. It will be visible until around October 24th when it starts to become too dim to see with the naked eye.

I feel there is a not so bad balance in threats, quite a number of them are non-deadric - celestial and celestial wannabe in Craglorn, dragons in Elsweyr, vampires and werewolves in Skyrim, some volcano spirit in High Isle. Sure, daedric threats still form at least half of the threats we did face, surely a bit more, but that also mean that around half of these threats are non-daedric, wich is a lot.

Someone at work told me that just today! I'm happy to hear I still could see it. Thanks for posting this.

If i had to make an educated guess? Something more subtle and Mephala like. Remember, Sanguine is the prince of revelry so he could use his powers in more esoteric ways, like having a ruler be victory-drunk in war which causes them to be reckless, or so blinded that they give into sloth or gorge themselves endlessly on food.

Peryite was also mistaken as a lower tier prince before he released the knahaten flu on Tamriel. Arguably did more damage than Molag Bal with that one.

You really expect ZOS to write something like that when it comes to Sanguine and not something horribly obvious? Your optimism is astounding.

Yes and it's interesting to see them listed like this to make me see I most enjoyed the stories that weren't about the princes.

Last two years were all princes so hopefully something else next year.

Yeah, that's the problem with a more extended approach to story-arcs ( or whatever this is called ), you kinda eat the same stuff for two years rather than one ! That being said ( I didn't played at that time but ) I think the morrowind-clockwork city-summerset arc was nice, as even if it was a daedric conjuration / threat, there was also other actors and interesting ( for me at least ) developments - the pseudo-nerevar, the sea slugs, and the overall building of the story was, i'd say, well done.

Anyway, I also hope something not daedric related for the next ( two ? ) years; would really like something more simple, but... last hope I have was High Isle, ended up being extinction threat again in Galen and the first part of the story was quite straightforward with not much development about High Isle society, so, i'm a bit cautious.

In my life I have seen two comets: Halley's Comet in 1985, and Hale Bopp in 1997. They looked cool, but still looked the same. The next comet looks just like the last.

Me too, two years? of something else. If they stick to that trend. Another war among the stars. Or..... stars rescuing Ithelia. I would cope with that. Maybe the lady and the knight rescue her. Nirn meets Stardust.

Hot take but tamriel would be better off if someone did something about those princes once and for all.
