Solo Player Guild Feedback

Missed the survey. Only just found out about the Guild Survey thanks to some social media content.

I’m a solo player. Love ESO. Sometimes I find something I know is valuable. Or I simply have too much of whatever. Wish I could sell it for good profit. But I’d need to be a trader and be in a trading guild and with that would likely be a whole lot of member rules. That’d intrude upon my independence. So I just keep hoarding stuff or vendor it or dump it.

Sure, someone might reply… join my guild… no rules and we’re in an obscure trading location and rarely get nibbles let alone visitors. Sure right.

Guess I have to stay relatively poor with hundreds / thousands of materials hoarded. Sigh.

NOT advocating for an open AH. That’s a whole separate rant (of which I’m probably in agreement with most ESO players). Dunno what an appropriate Guild solution is without leaving us open to the disaster that’s an open AH.

I’d rather continue as is than expose the game to problems.

There are numerous guilds full of solo players, or full of players that only joined for the Trader but nobody ever speaks in guild chat, organizes parties, etc.. because they are actively sociable in one or more of the other four guilds they're also members of.

One guild I'm in has a full roster, a phenomenal guild hall designed for crafters, and a decent Trader. Yet nobody ever speaks (or at least very rarely beyond the occasional Welcome message), there are no dues, and no rules beyond not being online for a month or more may result in getting the boot to make room for players who are.

Heck, most higly active sociable guilds have players that you never ever hear a peep from, and you'd never know they were a member unless you went looking for them.

Honestly not aware of any “no strings attached” guilds. Guess there is some flag or option when looking for a Guild?

Not that I’m antisocial lol. Just… so casual that I’m not up for competing for a membership spot. As an ex guild leader myself (elsewhere) I agree with culling inactive members in order to make way for potentially more active members.

I second the suggestion to look for social guilds, they often have a no strings trader

I've long argued for a single NPC trader in perhaps the starting zones that would accept a small number of listings at a higher commission rate than the guild traders and the overall commission from which would be shared each week among the guilds trading in those locations.

This would enable those not in guilds or whose guilds don't have a trader that week (or at all) to sell a few items as and when they need to, and would bring additional revenue to the trading guilds from players who would otherwise not be contributing to those guilds at all, so it's a win/win situation.

I have played for several years on PS/NA and have always been a member of at least one guild with a trader. Guilds have come and gone, but on PS/NA I have always been able to find a guild with a trader that does not charge required weekly dues in order to use the guild trader. Often the guild is nearly full (>450 members), and the trader has never been located in Mournhold/Wayrest/Elden Root. I look at the prices being charged in the capital guild traders for what I want to sell, price it at the low end, and it sells. Works for me. Not sure why folks struggle with the whole guild trader issue. Must be a different experience on other ESO servers than PS/NA.

You were a bit dismissive of people who replied saying they know of a small guild that may be in a less popular location but still gets sales and has no requirements.

Well I'm in one of those, along with another three larger guilds.

If I put my mind to it I can sell a very decent amount in that small guild but ofc it requires more thought and time on my part.

However non of the three larger guilds ask for weekly fees, two set minimum sales and ask for a donation if those sales aren't achieved.

One of those the minimum sales are 5k per week or a 2k donation, as far as I'm concerned if someone cannot sell 5k's worth of items in a week then they don't need a Trade Guild!

I'm sure you could find a good fit for you right here, I'm on PC-EU if you need a no nonsense place just to sell your stash, we have people who join just to sell but stay for the good company! 💕
    When people say to me........
"You're going to regret that in the morning"
I sleep until midday cos I'm a problem solver!

I’m in a guild that has a trader in a capital city, either base game or dlc, that is donation based and has no requirement for joining chat. It’s sell stuff and donate what you can. I occasionally text chat but it is because I choose to do so.

I am also in a guild that, strangely enough, is called Solo Players. Sometimes I wonder why I am still in it since there is only text chat once in a blue moon.

EDIT: I also want to mention that I did not see the thread about the guild survey until it was already closed. I check here a few times a day, but I had not worked my way up to the top of the forum section yet.

Many guilds do not require communication and activity. In some guilds, you can set yourself the status of "offline" and you will not be excluded. Even in the densest crowd, you can be lonely

You Obviously haven't done Much selling.

On PC, there is the TTC, where you look for specific items and it tells you exactly what Trader sells it and what the price is. What this means in this conversation, is that the comment about the trading location being obscure is irrelevant. Every trader can be located relatively easily, even the single ones that are just near a wayshrine. The Only real issue is whether or not someone else got to the item before you got there.

I always just wait for Guilds to advertise, check their link and see if they have a Trader. If they don't, I don't apply. I also don't apply at those who have Requirements. There are Guilds that don't require weekly fees or sales, yet the Trader is not the focus of the Guild. Just have to be patient and wait for them to advertise since it is impossible to just Find a Guild. You can't even look for a Guild someone recommends because you can't research a Guild name.

I play solo, I play events, so I sell motifs and perfect roe mostly. So Trading is Not my life, as it is for some Guilds and players. Just gotta wait for the Guild that works for you to pop up.
